For those who completed NF
Perkunas
This is not intended to be a flame, please don't take it that way.
NF is less than a week old at the time of this post. People are saying, some bragging, that they have 'completed' the game. My question(s) is(are) this; did you do it with a 'virgin' NF character or a character from a previous chapter? And did you or did you not, use resources from the previous chapters too? If you got thru the new chapter with a new NF character without using ANY resourses from the previous chapter, 'My hat's off to you.' No one had that advantage first time thru Prophesies. Taking a maxed out character into a new game is almost like cheating. No real challenge when you have all you need in the beginning. LoL.
I have tried 2 or 3 new characters in factions. I wound up deleting them. I am now taking my 'best' favorite 'maxed out' character from prohesies into factions. It should be easier than starting from scratch. So I will be 'cheating' in Factions. I know, I know, it's not cheating, cause the game allows it.
IMO, the game is not completed until you have taken EVERY character class through ALL the missions and quests. Almost everyone has a Warrior, Ranger, and possibly an Elementalist and Monk. Has everyone taken a Mesmer or Necro thru the entire game. If not, why? Too hard for you?
Suggestion for Anet; A title for the number of character classes on each account completing each of the titles. Because of limited slots, 4 for prophesies, 6 for factions, and I guess 8 for NF, those would be starting points. Unless Anet adds 2 slots per chapter to each account, a total of 6, 8, & 10, it would be 'impossible' for the maxed title of ALL classes. I know extra slots can be purchased, but the average person probably wouldn't pay for them.
Got to rambling a bit. My apoplgies.

Actually... Nightfall is over a week old (a week as of Friday... it's Monday). Anywho, I beat it with my shiny new dervish on Saturday. I really only used stuff I already had to buy the 1k armor in consulate docks; now I'm taking my others thorugh.
So bascially this whole thread is to counter all those people bragging about having beaten the game, by saying in your opinion they haven't beat it yet...

I've taken a canthan monk and a dervish through the game. The dervish I didn't use any previous resources since there was nothing to buy, I wasn't in the mood to camp the trader for 3 hours just to get a minor rune. I played through with the max 1k armor and used the preorder scythe until I got a drop.
Is there actually a point to this thread?

I've completed it with a virgin Dervish without drawing upon any resources from my previous characters. There's not much to draw from, since this Dervish was my second PvE character, and I had less than 4k in the stash. However, I did have factions/prophecies skill UAX from pvp'ing and so all my heroes had access to pretty solid builds from the get-go.
I only hiccuped during one particular mission near the end. Everything else was fairly smooth. I completed the campaign after putting in ~2 hours each night since release, which is not unreasonable for a casual player like myself, so I'd say about 13-14 hours to complete the campaign with a virgin Elonian character.
I've completed every mission and quest with heroes and henchies, except the occasional party of convenience when I saw a quick "Mission group LFM" go up in my local chat.
Overall, I would rate the PvE difficulty in Nightfall to be comparable to that of Tyria, but because of the new heroes and henchmen mechanics, there's less reliance on other players and more on yourself.

OP, please dummy this down for us...what are you trying to get across to the reader?

Here's the sum of what I gathered as the point of this thread
Then he suggests a new title to encourage others to think and play the way he does...

I can see where's he's coeming from, but at the same time (and I haven't completed NF yet) I don't like any of the new characters. I used my Necro and she's pretty much he only character that I use for anything/anywhere. It's not the fact I don't want the challenge, but I just enjoy what I have and intend on enjoying it the WAY I WANT TO. Doesn't matter what anyone says/does, that isn't ging to change. Te way you play is your perogative, bu I'll stick to doing it with my Necro b/c she's awesome

As for your question, my Canthan monk has completed the primary quests and missions only. By no means have I completed the game. I have a ton of quests, etc that I can still do. However, I will start working on one of my other characters instead.
For the comment regarding warriors, rangers, etc and everyone having one: I don't. I play casters. I always have. Ele was my first character, monk, then mesmer, then necro, then rit. I have no assassin, ranger or warrior. With Nightfall, I am going to try my hand at Dervish, Paragon and Ranger. However, I am fully willing to delete/mule them if I don't like them. (They will be pretty mules, though. I plan on 15k for each of them. )

I guess I am trying to find out when I get the game, is it going to be too easy with a new character or so hard that I need a character from the previous chapter. The latter parts of my post was side tracked into some of my 'other' thoughts.

Eh, ignore it. People who rush through the game hardly even soaked in the ambiance and had time to enjoy it. Many of them are either hardcore fans with no lives, or people rushing to get endgame greens like the forgotten sword so they can sell them for 100k + 5 ectos before prices plummet later on.

Yes i beat NF with 2 chars. My main warrior from PROP and my new Elonian necro. For me i like to test the game with my war first. Then i make what ever to play through it a second time. Now for me i did this all through the mass AI screwup so it'll be different for you. i would suggest to play through with whatever character you play best with first time, whether you rush it through or not is fine. Then with a fair idea then take your time and enjoy, either way you wont miss much content. Cause there really isnt any way to skip missions. yes you could skip one or 2 but that is about all you could really skip.
