This is a kind of lockdown spike build for TA/RA.

echo
warstrells demise
mistrust
spiritual pain
backfire
guilt
shame
res sig

You begin with echo then you cast WD twice, then backfire, mistrust, WD twice, guilt/shame, WD twice. You can finish the oppenent off witt spiritual pain or if there is a spirit nice AoE dmg.

WD has a pretty high dmg if you use it right try to look at the casters cast rate and try to guess when to spike, it deals ~70 dmg per cast.

If the caster don't pay attention backfire will kill him otherways it will be removed. I is nice to cover backfire with shame/guilt if you want to cast it on monk, it will interupt his hex remover.

Would you please give some comments on this build, thnx anyway

Blocking a caster from casting is opposite to the point of backfire, really. You're better off shutting down two opponents with the various spells.

There is a lot of pressure in this build, energy management might be tricky (unless you can get people to cast continuously into your guilt and shame).

...starting to think there's no point in commenting on these kind of RA builds that won't work without monk...

Remove Backfire firstly. Echo is also on blacklist. If you want something that lets you cast more stuff, then get Mantra of Recovery or Glyph of Renewal.

I wouldn't suggest taking Spiritual Pain. I'm not too sure about Wastrel's Demise, either.

Also, I'd drop either Guilt or Shame (I'd prefer dropping Guilt), and putting in Power Drain.

Ireally prefer echo above mantra of recovery to rapidly cast wastrels demise, because of the +20% and +10% recharche of my wand and off-hand. Backfire is just for the pressure, they have to remove it otherwise the monk, caster is dead, and in TM most of the time don't see backfire or see it too late. Yes it isn't a lockdown build, but its nice pressure. Spiritual pain is only to kill off your enemy or if the have spirits to do pretty AoE dmg.

He could take arcane echo and save an elite slot however though. On the other hand though, MoR would fit better for guilt & shame.

You guys seem to be missing the point of his build is a 1v1 anti-caster with damage, not a 1vMany caster with no damage. On the whole though without much energy management (guilt & shame aren't enough) you'll end up pretty useless the rest of the match. I would rather take an energy surger over this build.

Energy isn't really the problem. It's all low cost, you just have to learn to manage your skill selection. don't overcast. Cast in spikes and rest, you usually use 3x5 for the first spike, then 8 sec nothing, then 2x5, 8 sec 2x5 sec. 8x4x1,33=42,56 energy gained, and 35 energy spent. the most ppl have around 50 energy ,so if you don't cast too much you wouldn't get out of energy.

Oh yea...there's really no point in bringing echo just for some skill that have 8 second recharge.

If you use Assassin secondary, you can use triple Westrel skills

[skill]Wastrel's Worry[/skill]
[skill]Wastrel's Demise[/skill]
[skill]Wastrel's Collapse[/skill]

Why not..... If you use warstrels demise as a presure skill its obviously dumb to echo it. But I use it as a dmg skill to do as much dmg I can in a few sec. They call it a spike, if well coordinate it with for example a sin you kill a caster in a few sec. cast right before you spike backfire and in the chaos the monk will cast a spell to protect him without looking at that little hex that was casted on him. I don't look at an individual skill I look at combo's thats the best way to play a mesmer.
