Do Heros Affect Drop Rate?
Lifeblast
Simple enough question. I've been using my hero to help me farm and it seems as though they dont affect the droprate, but that could be just wishful thinking/dellusions on my part. Anyone know the answer for a fact?
CtrlAltDel
pretty sure they affect things just like henches do
The undead Mesmer
They steal your drops just like henchies thats all i have to say -_-
Iscana
Not if you place them out of the compass area and there names appear gray in the team list. Then you get are your drops for sure.

So what is the reason to even bring the Hero with you just go on your own.

I sense much newbness in this thread
(don't mean to be mean but people this is obvious stuff)

you can use hench to get rid of the mobs around a boss, send them away and solo the boss

no they dont,

henchment are "hired" and payed in "treasure"(drops). However Hero's share inventory with you so why shouldn't they share drops as well. Anyway as i said in my duo me/hero build i'm seeming to be getting all drops from things. where as me/hench i dont seem to be getting as many drops.
All i'd like to know is. Does anyone have any hard evidence to back up either side to this argument? Just posting what you think really doesn't help at all. Now if you've got numbers data or statements by gw's devs please post it.

Guys....
Since no one seems to agree on this, how about proving it to yourself by performing a simple test.
Go out with just you and a hero.
Kill something.
Repeat until you get a gold (money) drop.
Look at it, and then pick it up. Did you get the full amount?
If yes, then you're getting all the drops.
If no....the hero got a cut.
That help?

M8s Gaile has allready replied to that question... They do take a part of the drops.. Just like henchies..

Remember that i have read it here on the Guru.

Suprise, they take their share of drops. Until the last update, so did Olias' minions.
If you want all the drops, the rule is still the same: kill them all yourself.

Has the "Hero out of compass, you get all drops" theory been proven, because so farming Corporal Suli for her Scythe takes forever even with heroes due to the mobs before her, and after 10 tries or so she hasn't dropped it yet =/

if 30+ greens farmed by me after sending the heroes/henches out of the compass means much, then I'd say so
and if Suli takes forever then you are doing something very wrong. There are 2 small mobs before her small mob

I am soloing her with the Midnight Blind N/Me Solo. The mobs take a while because I am not physically fighting except spamming Conjure Nightmare every once in a while (no Soul Reaping is lose =/)
I guess it's the part where she doesn't like to drop that's making it long xD
