Have you used it outside of town??
I think it would give you an armor bonus for a limited duration.

Its an outside of town thing, limited duration, can not be used in PvP.
Feminist Terrorist
It's also a quest item, so I would advise not to use it for the armor bonus unless you have spares sitting around.

anyone try the pahini(sp?) salad yet? it's some wicked salad that makes your screen all crazy, almost worse than when you're drunk. It claims to last 600 minutes, but actually only lasts about 6 minutes.. sort of like how the candy corn potion lasts 50 instead of 5 minutes.
I forget how much hp it adds, I was too distracted by whatever dressing that crazy chef put into it!

Why would you try to get an armor bonus inside of town? Are you afraid the merchant might slap you or something? These work in PvE explorable areas.
FWIW, the armor bonus the Drake Kabob gives you is +5 armor for 10 minutes. Considering that Drake Fleshes are easy as heck to farm (don't know why the fleshes sell for so much, honestly), it's a pretty nice bonus.
The Pahnai Salad gives you +10% max health for 600 minutes, but you also have to put up with the 'drunk' effect (albeit, not a full drunk effect).
The Skalefin Soup gives you +1 health regen for 10 minutes.

You also need it for an early game quest, but I couldn't find a single Drake Kabob on any of my four Factions characters until my Prophesies character came into the game and found it while wandering around as a level 17...
So I used it up on the quest. Hardest thing to find in the game...

the drake flesh is quite hard to find i have seen it sell for at least 5k at times by desperate players.

I agree the chunk of drake flesh is really difficult to get. I tried killing about 20 drakes solo in the plains (going in and out of the town) and they still wouldnt drop the flesh. It wasnt until later on in the island where there were more drake areas that i got a couple unexpectingly. For such an early on quest, I dont think its worth the time hunting for the flesh, but just leave it until you get it during your travels later on in the island.
HawkofStorms
Drake fleshes don't really drop on the island, but drop a LOT on the mainalnd.
Think of it as a reverse nago oil quest.

Drake flesh is like a watched pot...
Don't look for it and you'll get it

I've been doing a msision in Kourna and so far have found five of them in three attempts at this mission. They're so easy to find in Kourna, but in Istan it's hard to find them, I was lucky enough to find mine for my quest there so I have five flesh things sitting around, going to use them for other characters though.
I want to try that salad out, sounds wicked, that first time i got drunk on Dwarven ale the first night it came out, I couldn't look at the screen, it caused my eyes to water like mad, just thinking about it makes my eyes water. It was bad, it was like I was crying but I wasn't, I couldn't control it either. So if the salad is worse than being wasted on Dwarven Ale, then wow...

The salad is actually 600 seconds aka 10 min.

I've had the game from the start, and I've yet to get a drake flesh to drop. I refuse to "buy" for 5 or 6 K this seemingly free drop item but it does get me a bit riled. Any time I see a drake even close I'll go after it "just in case" and nothin' yet.
I figure it'll happen later than sooner but yeah, they're not common for me at all.

I got three running around Meitani Keys with three heroes. Just let the quest sit there for a while, it's pretty rewarding for an Istan quest, when the XP flow from monsters slows down.

In my experience Drake Flesh doesn't drop that rarely. During the Double Dye Weekend I did a couple of runs on the Training-Island, I barely got any dyes but loads of Drake Flesh: almost 1 in 1
Shadowfox1125
Once, I soloed three drakes at the Issur Isles; I got 3 chunks of drake flesh and currently have 8. Go figure.
bigwig
Wow it almost sounds as though drops for chunks of drake flesh are completely random or something.

The salad gives you a healt bonus.....after 600min, and you look like you are drunk on the screen but you won't get drunk title for it -.-".
I used it in a hard mission.......DO NOT TRY THIS.
