Been getting my Paragon through the game and wanted her to got to FoW so as to rack up some easy skill points and I got wondering, at which point did the game consider her 'ascended' enough to get there.
My dervish Ascended Tyrian style after being ran to the Toa at level 18,after having completed the Consulate docks and sunspear sancturary mission and quest. Alas she was'nt allowed down.
So, I push a tiny bit further with my Paragon and went and did the rescue the prisoners sub quest part of 'building the base' This I sucessfully did and then went directly to the ToA, not passing go or collecting 100 ecto.
Now this may have been known before, but it seems that to be eligable to go to UW/ToA from Elona one needs to
1. Complete the Consulate Docks
2. Obtain the Sunspear Sancturary.
3. Complete the rescue prisoners sub quest as part of building the base.
4. Optional.. Change profession at least once.
The rank and quest to get to Sunspear General is not required, neither is access to the Chantry Of Secrets.

i think ur ascended when u have the option to change profecions, thats wut they did in factions and proficies

^In Prophecies you're ascended after you kill your doppleganger and in Factions you're When no Su (or whatever it was....)

And you get the option to change secondaries right after either those two actions

Elonians are never considered "Ascended." For proof beat the game and then try to switch your profession at the changer in GtoB. He will tell you that you need to be "Ascended" or "Closer..." I think with the new way of switching professions ascension has gone out the window.
