"The trader refuses to buy that item"
Cebe
Umm...hmmm...it appears I have aquired some "sub-standard" insignia...at least according to the Rune Trader in the Kodash Bazaar.
I found some Warriors Lieutenant's Insignia on a gold Margonite Armor from a chest. I salvage off the rune and the insignia then go to the rune trader. I try to sell my warrior insignia and it says "The trader refuses to buy that item".
I decided to inspect the insignia a little closer to find that it must be one of the oddest armor *cough* "bonuses" I have EVER seen. The stats are:
Reduces Hex duration on you by 20% and damage dealt by you by 5%
(non stacking)
Armor -20
ARMOR -20? WTF? Damage dealt reduced by 5%? WTF?
/doubletake
Has ANYONE found an insignia like this before and have had a problem such as this? Can anyone shed any light at all on why this insignia exists as it is obviously rubbish (although having never played warrior I'm not 100% sure on that)...cause I'm stumped.

It's the bonus that previously existed on the Lieutenant's Helm for Warriors. While it's not rubbish, it's a significant step down from its former incarnation which reduced hex time by 50%. I've actually been wondering why I hadn't seen any of those insignias at the trader.

You have to ask yourself if the -5% damage reduction is worth the -20 to armor. My guess is it isn't. The hex duration reduction might be nice though but I don't know about the loss to armor.

I'd rather be hexed those few seconds longer, that be weekend like that -_- As for the "The trader refuses to buy that item" error, that happened to me when I was trying to sell an item gotten from a quest. The 25g Dye and the Vigor rune. That's understandable. Why are you getting the same error from and item obtained "the right way"? Who knows... I bet my money that this is a bug. Store it and sell after the next patch, or sell it to a merchant. It all depends on do you have a free storage slot, and do you think it will be worth more then about 200~300g Cebe

Well I dunno, not tried selling it to a merchant although he will only give me 25 gold for it. I decided to keep it for the time being just on the off chance there may be a use for it...but seeing as it's not really a "bonus" for the user I dunno how long I'll be keeping it in my storage. I may wait until the next update and try selling then. Warskull
It is the old lieutenants helm post nerf. It would reduce hexes by 20% but only had 60AL and cost you 1 point in your weapon. This does the same thing. No one runs the lt helm anymore.

actually i had the same problem trying to sell a regular old rune of minor vigor to the rune trader. I haven't heard of any changes to them that would prevent me selling it.

I had the same problem with the trader refusing this kind of insignia. The latest patch fixed it.

Might be useful if you put it on your hands or feet, since the armor at those points is not nearly as important. Its only really effective against a few skills, such as those hexes over 15 second durations (shadow of fear, faintheartedness, spoil victor). Though, even on a 10 second hex thats 2 seconds off.
So i guess you could say its a decision between the 20% off and the -5% damage reduction. Personally, I wouldn't mind putting that on my feet. Xiypher

As Poki already pointed out, its not damage reduction. YOU do less damage. The only practical use for this is running, in battle you should have pleanty of hex removal, and its not worth the downfalls

For clarification to those to lazy to look at the picture, it says "Reduces Hex duration by 20% and damage DEALT BY YOU by 5%" (the caps are mine for emphasis.)
