Since Boon Prot got to a point where it fell out of favor fellow Monks have been using all kinds of ways to survive. In the current metagame BL Monks with Return and Dark Escape are still the most popular but a lot of guilds have been experimenting with alternatives.

With Paragons providing support through Aria of Zeal and Energizing Finale, I see a lot of Monks choosing W 2ndary and utilizing classics like Balanced Stance and Deadly Riposte, along with newcomers like Soldier's Defense.

I'm more interested in the Dervish 2ndary options though. Conviction and Vital Boon make a wonderful combination. If you use the +10 armor while ench Insignia, you can pump up your armor to close to 94...

What do you guys think? What's your new favorite survivability technique?

I'm personally still a big fan of /A options, Return and Dark Escape are personal favorites. However I can't wait to get my hands on Nightfall in order to test new kiting skills, aswell as...every other new skill / armor / build / character

AFAIK, people have been playing around with balanced stance, shield bash, and deadly riposte for a while.

And I see a lot of Monks running these skills these days. A lot more than it just being accidental that is. But I'm personally a fan of high armor. I find it harder to negate as compared to "block" or "evade" skills. And as for /A, a lot of Wars these days run A 2ndary as well and they don't bother running after you while you are zapping around, they simply zap around after you! Death's Retreat is an interesting new option tho.
