Can you get a cow as a pet?

In the first explorable area outside of the first town after you leave the island and go to the mainland (Have I lost you yet? Sorry can remember the name of the area at work) There is a herd of cows which are green when you hit the alt/ctrl key. Are the cows trainable? I have not had the time to get a ranger far enough to try it myself.

LOL, nope. Lion, Flamingo, Crocodile, Hog. No cows that I know of, imaging seing a cow doing a Milk Attack.

But seriously, no cows. No matter how bizarre and awesome that would be.

Would some of the skills be 'Mad Cow' and 'Udder Disaster'?

I've got names already picked out for any pets I get. I currently have my awesome tiger "Hobbes" after the best comic ever.

I think you also forgot about the rat! If I had one, I'd name him Master Splinter (or some variation so that the name would fit)

Yeah, no cow, but that would be awesome if it was possible.
I'd name my cow "One Percent". The cows are part of a quest. I won't tell you the quest, cuz I don't want to spoil anything for you.

And if I had a croc, I'd name it Steve Irwin (out of respect)

Ahhhh come on!! LOL. We have plenty of other humor in GW, why not throw more out there and make everything just one BIG joke (especially with ANet's Nightfall Humor) haha

Can you rename hero pets? I was not aware of that being possible?

Yes you can rename your pet... By head:

/petname newname

No there is still no way to rename or replace hero pets and to my knowledge Anet has yet to even acknowledge this as a bug that is on the to do list.

Pet cow? That would be sweet. You'd have to be able to buy udder-armor for it, though...that's their weak point [youtube.com].

I cow would be nice...but it would be somewhat odd in like a PvP match lol. I like my Dire Crane...took so long to get it.

on a side note it be nice to be able to charm non-humans with charm animal. I'd love a roller ball guy as a pet.

If an animal that can be use charm animal to capture as a pet then it must be able to attack. Do you think a cow can attack? lol
