Chapter Four; Let's get back to the roots
Alt F Four
[Warning, this thread will contain spoilers from all three Chapters.]
Alot of people were thinking that Guild Wars should aim for a 'Greek/Roman' theme for the next chapter. We've already got a kind of European classic fantasy with a hint of Norse, Asain, and African/Egyptian/Indian theme. The logical next step is to aim for something new: Grecco-Roman stuff.
I disagree. I mean, we fought a Lich Lord, a betraying Envoy, and a freakin' God. How do you plan to top that? Fighting a corrupt Caesar would be kind of anti-climatic after facing off with a god.
So here's my idea. I'm not going to plan out everything, like some people do with new class ideas. I'm just going to give the general taste of what I was thinkin' and start naming off stuff that would work.
We should have another Guild War. The Jade Brother hood as this kind of evil guild that pillages Kaineng City. That was neat. I liked fighting enemies that had capes. Let's go one louder.
* Mutliple NPC based Guilds from multiple places. A Luxon Guild, a Vabbian Guild, a Shining Blade guild. No single enemy.
* A PvE side to being in a Guild. Special Guild Henchment that wear your cape. Special Guild NPCs (Think non-party memebers who are in your group, like the occational quest that gives a couple Sunspears.) that can come with you to battle.
* Allied mobs. Turn regular locations into all-out war-zones.
* Other live guilds having enemy mobs. It could be PvE vs. PvE.
* Larger Guild Halls that can be attacked by NPC teams.
Edit: Additional Ideas
* The ability to join NPC guilds with an Alternate Cape option. Let's face it, some people are in wonderful guilds with not-so wonderful capes. I'll tell ya, I'd switch my cape out for a Jade Brotherhood cape anyday.
* When NPCs attack your Hall, it can be set up as a mission with skill point based rewards on how good you do. And then to keep it new, there could be differen't types of attacks. Like one where you just have to defend your Lord, or one where you need to kill the enemy lord, or even one were it's like Victory or Death and you need to do both. Any other ideas pretaining to this?
List of ideas for the backgrounds of the said NPC Guilds:
Place: Like a Kryta Guild, or an Ascalon guild, or a Vabbian Guild
Faction: Like a Lion Guard guild, or a Sunspear guild, or guilds for each of the Factions sides.
Race: Tengu, Centuar, Forgotton, Harpies, Undead, Charr (<3), Human, Dwarf etc.
Leader: Mhenlo, Verata, Jarto (Hey, he popped up in Nightfall. xD), Talon Silverwing etc etc
God: All five. Heck, maybe even Abaddon too.
Those are what I have so far. And shit, the whole Grecco-Roman thing can still work. Rather then one big island with a smaller 'noob area', how about a series of islands. That'd fit into the whole Guild War thing, since Guilds own islands anyway.
Anybody with anything else to add, go nuts. We can only influence Anet, not dictate what they need. I'm stumped on classes, but let's make sure we get some real casters in there. We have three melee classes and two ranged physical attackers. MAYBE another ranged physical attacker.

It's true that the 'omg you guys are leet, help us beat this ancient evil' storyline is going to feel a bit bland after fighting a bloody god, but there still needs to be a goal, an enemy to aim at defeating in a story. Having a new Guild War is a new idea, but without something the story is aimed at, it'll just feel like PvP without intelligent enemies, sort of like fighting sub rank 500 guilds at the end of a ladder season.

(hope that didn't spoil anything)

If you are in an alliance, the battle will be bigger and the only GH that is attacked is the Leader Guild.

Oh a GW forum
Hey or not. People bitch and bitch and bitch how factions was just pvp with a pve costume, and here you are actually suggesting the entire pve experience be simulated pvp?
No, no way, no way in hell.

That gives me a new idea. When NPCs attack your Hall, it can be set up as a mission with skill point based rewards on how good you do. I cannot agree with the idea of NPCs attacking the guild halls and the size of the halls are fine as they are right now. But if it was another guild war, we can't redo the same people right now because it'd use the same worlds and therefore it'd have to be added onto Factions and Prophecies forcing people to buy both. It would have to be two new big big big factions.
But I do see this too closely related to Factions which two factions are fighting, alot...

sorry bubs but this idea doesn't sound so original.

First off, at this point the fourth campaign has already been in developement for six months so if any of this was even considered it would probablly be campaign six or maybe five.

This doesn't even touch on any actual theme for a campaign. If you're going to have guild henchmen, you may as well just give the existing henchmen capes. Npc guilds is just rediclous.
Overall a terrible and lacking idea.

Guild Wars has cross-chapter references ALL the time.

Sorry man, but GUILD Wars needs a bit more Guild in it. A PvE side to Guilds is a perfectly viable idea. Thanks for trolling.
Knightsaber Sith
That's not trolling,and....... seems it disappeared. Most people that thow around the term trolling seem to have no idea what it means.
That hate mail comment doesn't even make sense... when did I make hate mail or send anything to Anet? Am Fah are classified as a gang and not a guild; they're about as much of a guild as the charr and the grawl are even if they do have capes.
The pve side to guilds is doing quests and missions with your guild.
What you're suggesting is basically a guild version of the zaishen challenge arena; which is just soo riveting(gvg against npc's isn't really putting the guild back in pve so much as doing more pvp against npc's).
/notsigned...again

this was said in another thread, but it would be cool, if you went to like a place higher than the hall of heroes, and protected the area they lived in from a siege of ghostlies. its not killing a god, but it is defending 5.
Kool Pajamas
A PvE mission in your guild hall could be good. It could use your guild hall map like a Gvg but there would be a large amount of enemies at the other side. The other teams' guild lord would be a strong boss. Maybe even an npc flag runner lol. could be made like a challenge mission. Try to get a higher score each time. Npc mobs could have random builds and some unique builds to each guild hall.
lyra_song
Perhaps your own Guild Hall could be a Challenge Mission....

[sarcasm]Chapter 4 should take place inside a computer. Characters (new classes would be "hacker" and "virgin") have to walk around and kill all the bugs Anet put in the game. The boss of the game could be Gaile Gray's level 7 r/mo thumper wannabe with orison. At the end of the game, players will get a green item called Easy Button, which will let them skip a relic run in case the ghost decided he doesn't want to accept relics.[/sarcasm]
[notsarcasm]With the three biggest regions of real earth exhausted from the list of regions to put in GW, it is likely Anet will do something from the ancient civilizations, greek, roman, possibly even central/south american. They could also place a campaign in an all-snowy place connecting to the dwarven shiverpeaks. Maybe even an undersea theme taking place in the sunken peninsula of Orr.
I say this to arenanet. If nothing else...
Don't make weapons that do 80 damage on non-skill attanks. Don't make a 1-handed bow that attacks faster than a bow, and don't make the strongest weapon in the game do area damage.

So you want another FACTIONS?
You do appreciate that the when making a new campaign you DONT copy previous ones and you aim to make a wholey original and fresh idea?
Otherwise the games will get stale and identical.
I like the effort you put into it, but it just sounded like an amended version of factions to me.
