I just got a pop-up ad on guru (that's a first), which looked identical to a standard window error message. It had two options, ok and cancel, I didn't try pressing ok, but pressing cancel was, well, like I imagine pressing ok would be. The only way to avoid the message was to click the X in the corner. The message itself read something like:
Error Detected!
Error Safe has detected an error on your computer, press OK to install Error Safe and scan your computer for errors.
[OK] [Cancel]
*clicks cancel*
Thank you for choosing Error Safe, we will now install the program on your computer and scan for errors. Please visit our website for more information about Error Safe.
[OK]
In addition to that dialouge the banner on the top of the screen was from the same company. Now, I don't mind advertising like it is on the site at the moment with just the banner on top, but GWG really shouldn't allow pop-ups, and especially not ones obviously made to trick people into installing something they don't want or need.

We don't allow pop-ups from advertisers. So it could have slipped through or some adware. Grab me a screenshot and link next time if you can. I need the URL to find the advertiser. In the meantime, I'll try to see if I can pull it up.

I did some googling after I had started the thread (while waiting for it to be verified), and it would appear Errorsafe is a virus/adware. I'm not entirely sure how it's gotten to my computer, but I updated my Firefox earlier yesterday and it seems I've gotten a ton of ad cookies with that update.
Anyway, it would appear GWG isn't to blame for it, and I'm sorry for not checking around more before I posted it.
