After capping Reapers Mark and Blinding Surge, I got the weirdest idea for a build utilizing the new Soul Reaping elite. This is just a general idea though and REALLY Needs sharpening so be sure to point out any problems with it.

Equipment:
Crimson Claw Wand (Sunspear Crafter), Inscription 15e/-1 and 10% HSR
Blood Offhand, Preferably HP+30 and HSR 10% but it's optional.
Armor: Tormentor or Energy
Skills:

Air Attunement: Energy return from Air Magic
Reaper's Mark: -5 degen and 17e return upon death while hexed
Lightning Orb: High damage spell #1
Enervating Charge: Damage spell #2 and added perk of Weakness
Lightning Javelin: Damage Spell #3 and potential Interrupt
Blood Renewal: HP maintenance; adds +5 regen and HP upon ending
(Utility Spell): Open for Discussion, was thinking either BR, Well of Blood, Signet of Lost Souls, or Blinding Flash.
Resurrection Signet/Sunspear Rebirth (PvE)
Simply put Cast Attunement and Blood Renewal before combat, Use Reaper's Mark first (VITAL), then run your Air spike combo. Enervating Charge puts pressure on Warriors, Javelin stops casters in their tracks, and Lightning Orb is there for pure DPS.
I've tested this build, and I can guarentee that you will have optimum energy return with the SR and Attunement combo and keep a spike going continuously due to the fast recharge of the air magic spells. The main problem I've noticed with this is that Lightning Orb takes a while to cast and both that and Javelin can be kited easily.
I have a feeling that Air can be replaced with any element, but I used air since it's got Blinding Flash as a good utility spell and the Armor Penetration is a good perk.
Any tips and pointers would really be appreciated. I've been looking for a good reason to use Reapers Mark and I think I found it.

- Pull out Blood. Not worthwhile for BR purposes only.
- Put points in Curses and get PB- a proper cover for RM
- Push SR to 14 (switch the Sup Rune) and get -6 degen and higher nrg RM
- Take out L Javelin. Do Orb/Enervating/L Strike.
- Consider the SR Sigs and Glyph of Lesser Energy

I was actually considering Glyph of Lesser Energy, but both are interchangable since most of your energy return comes from SR. I put in Signet of Lost Souls and as omcginty stated it works wonders as well. I gotta ask though, why swap out Javelin for Strike? Javelin does 2 damage more and recharges much faster, and has the benefit of interrupting an attacker.
My only grief is now I gotta craft a Soul Reaping scar with a sup rune. And I am already having storage problems. >_<

You generally wanna avoid projectiles. Orb is OK only because of its high damage. And L Strike does precisely the same damage Enervating does. Play around with it and see what you like. I am personally not a fan of projectile spells.

The only good thing about Strike is that it isn't a projectile.. can't be dodged. Is it worth taking against Javelin? Not to me. Might be to you. *shrug*
