Is req9 the lowest for max in NF?

I've not seen anything lower than req9 that has max dmg. Seems that Anet's preserved the value of the previous chapter's items somewhat by making the lowest two reqs for max dmg unattainable in elona.

If anyone has pictorial evidence on the contrary, please post it. If no pic, then pls don't bother

I thought this would be the best place to gather this information, feel free to move it if you think otherwise.

i realize that too, none of the max NF weapons that i have come across is req8......but if this is true, green weapons would be a good choice with "the lowest req".....

I have not seen any req 8s as well, and a friend actually mentioned this to me and it hit me. Possibly a way Anet is making another attempt to level the playing field between PvE and PvP - as you can only get req 9s on the PvP screen. Makes sense in a way, if it's true, req 8 items shoot up in price

I haven't seen a single req8 for sale either, so maybe it's true (hooray). If so, it'll be interesting, because Factions + Prophecies weapons will be more sought after...

dunno why items will shoot up unless they have stopped dropping in previous areas too, and I've seen req 7's and such still drop (not in NF but Factions and such).... so really if anything as wilderness said that'll just help the values hold, not go up imo... cuz the market is still getting more and more older ones still besides the market still keeps shifting towards newer items as the older ones except a few have dropped in value greatly

someone tried to sell me a req8 elemental sword for 200e a couple of days ago

i never actually saw it but i dont see why the seller would have lied about it.

actually i remember meself seeing players spamming req8s too..but heck..i didnt see it meself..so not gonna argue..till someone has solid proof...
im actually gonna try spamming wtb req8s ingame and see how it goes...

There are plenty of people selling req8s in elona, but every single one I've seen has been an older skin with no inscription slot.

I've been testing the market now for three days solid and I've not seen a single max req8. I've spammed wtb too with no success.

As I said in my OP: It makes sense that Anet would restrict max to req9.. this way the new gold items remain cheap enough to be affordable by the masses and the older more expensive skins will retain most of their value.

Everyone wins.

Do Req. 8's still drop in Tyria/Cantha?

Max req 8s do drop in Elona, but they are very rare. They're similar in frequency (and where you'd get them) to req 7s in previous chapters.

I've only seen one req9 and it wasn't max damage. Luckily my ancient scythe was just req10, most I get are 13. :/

Nearest I've gotten to a req 8 maxed so far is a req 8 scimitar 15-21 damage -.-

I was quite fortunate to get a purple req 9 scythe out of a chest in Kourna, I guess.
Haven't seen anything around 8.... but I'm a 9 person anyway.

I had a max damage req 8 Fiery Gladius (new skin) drop or me. It was a blue drop. It did not however have a damage mod. It was a blue drop. Value at the merchant was like 80g, so I held on to it and passed it to a guildie.

IIRC, it dropped in either the Consulate Docks mission or Pogahn Passage.

EDIT: forgot to mention it didn't have and inscription slot either :S

I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the damage on whites, unless its an interesting skin. I have noticed that a fair number of req 12s in Elona are *not* max damage.

Hmm, so I take it no one's seen the elusive abominable snowm...errr...Req. 8 drop yet?
