Heros cost to much!!

Hey all,
I have quite alot of Heros now, and i love to use them and fight beside them but....they are gona cost me a fortune to get them all new weps and Sup Vigors etc!!!

Does any 1 have any ideas to get around spending to much money on them!?

You don't have to get them all new weapons and sup vigors...
Collector weapons would be the cheaper way to get around having to pay for expensive max gold weapons for each of them, and major vigors would work just fine for the heroes (it's only a 9 hp difference)

I put superiors on my heroes with collector weapons and no vigors. They do just fine with only 405HP.

I've barely spent any money on them.

It doesn't really matter because i've got three spellcasters, and all they need is energy. So basically i've just given them whatever weapons drop, and a green that I already had. The only thing i've actually bought, is a Sup Death Rune for Olias, and i'm going to get one for Master of Whispers soon. That's about 6k in all, and he doesn't even really need it. I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

beat the game a couple times now. often the best weapons my heroes ever get is the off green that I'll never use anywhere else.

on a side note, remember that heroes can use weapons that are customied to your character. If I'm playing my warrior, I ussualy will have my fellblade, while Koss wields my IDS.

Some of my heroes use the /preorder items, and other perfect customized for me weapons, yeah customized weapons

I always forget about those despite having game stop, factions, and night fall pre orders.

Has anyone put a rune on a hero and then salvaged it back?

I am pretty sure its impossible to destroy hero armour so if this works and you wanted to give heros vigor, attunement , vitae runes etc it would be a lot cheaper. just move it from one char to another when you need to. Also at Henge of Denravi you can craft just off max weapons for casters with 20/20 on then for 1k. cheap and fine for all your spellcasters as its mainly the cast time and skill recharge you need. also they are 2 energy off max which is fine.

I don't spend any cash on my heroes at all. They are completely fine the way they are. Just give them a max damage weapon and its GG. What they need is skills though. The more you unlock, the better they are.

Heck, its a bit pointless to spend so much cash buying them runes and such don'tcha think? The main reason people even get runes is to boost their attributes for solo farming runs or PvP, both of which Heroes do not work with well (Give or take for PvP).

I just give them the 'junk' drops that drop along the way and are better than their current weapon.
Same with runes. If I find one that I can't/won't use, they can have it.
One of my Koss characters now has some green claw-like 'green' that dropped yesterday (first max green drop in Elona). I don't have a W character, so all max shields / axes / swords go to the various Koss characters I have.
The same goes for all my other characters.
The only 'rich' characters are two of my Jins, that have max platinum bows (gold).
But those where chest drops in Cantha, so did not cost me any gold except the keys.

Spelcasters is easy, as stated above.
Find a max energy off-hand and a +e wand and they should be ok.

for my casters, any staff with +10 energy is fine, I couldn't care less what else it has.

I haven't spent a penny on my heroes. All of it has been from drops or my preorder items. I'm not going to waste that much money on these guys. Not until I get uber-rich.

The only real gold I spent was a Major Death rune for Olias so his minions will be level 16.

I would like to see something where the heros will split the cost of the weapons/armor, being that they split the gold when it drops, however the items are customized for the hero.

This way it is less expensive for the player(you still have to pay something, thus a gold sink) and it isn't useable by the player.

Use and special items you get with GW preorders
(I finally found a use for that red shield that was part of the original GW pre-order - Koss loves it)

Keep 5 of every monster drop starting with the level 20 for some nice max stat / max bonus weapons & armor from collectors.

Keep perfect stat / low requirement weapons / armor with inscription and keep upgrading the upgrades / inscriptions as you find / salvage them (the ones you won't use)

I've found my hero's to be very reliable with "non-perfect" equipment myself.

I mainly use the weapons outside Sunspear Sanctuary for my Melee characters, I still need to get some weapons for my casters, but I have no idea how my budget will allow that. Also as for insignias, I havn't enough money to get down to that either, but I've packed all my heros with Minor Vigors/Superior Runes/Attunements.

But yeah, I agree, their way too expensive if you want to max out their stats. Not that Anet will do much about it.

For PvE, it really doesnt matter. For PvP, make a pvp char if u really wanna use them.

Then dont spend any money on them, Theyr fine with their little max armor and small runes.

I aint gonna spend alot on them, just some minor runes and some decent weapons and their fine

Overall I'm probably down about 30k because of heroes, but most of this could be got back with a 400g expert salvage kit.
