You can go Rit/N and only use minions.

Nightfall introduces the ability for Ritualists to become more mobile. One of the notable skill combinations uses [wiki]Caretaker's Charge[/wiki] and [wiki]Renewing Surge[/wiki]. When you combine these skills with [wiki]Generous Was Tsungrai[/wiki] and [wiki]Soothing Memories[/wiki] then you have good healing and energy management, as well as a good source of damage. Without the use of spirits, this also provides great mobility.

Another variation from Nightfall amplifies the use of [wiki]Weapon Skill[/wiki]s. A popular one harnesses the use of [wiki]Spirit's Strength[/wiki] and is better used with a spear or bow - adding in the skills from those two professions and you have a very good source of damage.

Overall, mrsmiles is somewhat right, but trying out builds that exist... no matter how few there may be, will give you an idea of what type of builds to make when it comes to not using spirits. It will also make it easier for you to make your own adjustments, and have it suit your playstyle.
