Running nerfed? In all chapters!
G-Humps
My freind was running my pre searing char to Lions Arch and he couldnt get Yaks to Beacons, The nps would just follow him even after he would use sprint or charge..!! these nerfes really suck, fighting your way through tyria will take forever.. =(
fenix
That's because he is a bad runner.
OasaTor
Yes, running has been "nerfed" but its still doable. People have found tricks to make it to droks, I for one have always had dryders chase me from yaks > beacons, but always seem to make it. Yes, they chase you, yes it makes it a lot harder, but of course you will have to learn to work with it.
Anarkii
Uh, running works perfectly fine. Not sure what you're talking about.
Edit - Havent done the Droks run. But I had no problems with Ascalon->LA.

Yeah thanks i know... i need a better runner its still hard why dont you go try it and tell meh wut u think
Seron
actually monsters are now chasing at 133%-150% speed always. at least this is what i'm noticing in nightfall...
necromancers, mesmers, elementalists, monks, everything follows you at 133%-150% speed always. This is either intentionally meant to screw CR'ers/runners or it's a bug.

I usually just fight my way there but I decided to give running a try (though the opposite way - taking my dervish from LA to Ascalon City).
Didn't die a single time and used my standard play build (it does include avatar of balthazar which is has a +33% move rate to it). I'm sure having done it I could come up with a better build - for one thing I depended heavy on enchants and the stone summit have a large chunk of necro's with strip enchants (grrr, evil little things) and I had no hex removal.
I've never tried to run anything before, in fact part of Tasca's Demise (I think it is called - the northern most part with the stone summit above yaks bend) you go through is the first time I went through there and I got lost a few times.
Nightfall has made running MUCH simpler. I would not have been able to do that without some of the skills. And I *still* didn't use running skills or weapons/shields, just my regular skills.

On another type of running, Chest Runs in Nightfall are pretty tough with the chests spawning in monster areas as well.

This is a true issue. The aggro system has changed with Nightfall and the changes apply to previous chapters aswell. The 2 big changes that will annoy runners are:
1. Many mobs got increased inherent speed, I've spotted different levels of this
- some are running 25% faster (+25% boost not enough to get rid of them but +33% works),
-some are 33% faster (you need to Dash to drop them),
-even some are 50% faster (Dash is not enough but teleporting into a target in front of you breaks the aggro)
2. A new problem which may be a bug : Breaking aggro of some mobs is now impossible or near impossible. Speed doesn't matter here and the monster may follow you around a whole map, even if you ran away very far from it. Even teleporting doesnt break this aggro.
If you want to see this feature/bug working, go run around Ice Floe - there will be always at least 1 Grawl Shaman that will follow you around whole map, unless you die. Or try Talus Chute where Avicaras are now faster than before and will chase you a very long way

Nerfing Running is stupid. I don't think people should be forced to do all the missions and stuff just to get to a new place...
Aegeroth
Yeeh, no real reason to complain when they intend you to fight your way through. I spose they want to make it harder for people to slack off.
Divinus Stella
Well the Guiles on the droks run wont ever break aggro, unless you got burning speed perhaps, but not really a problem until you need holy veil, so i supose the run is possible until you meet a golem.
Coverticus
Try running the Elonas Reach mission..... its now completely nuts!
Darkpower Alchemist
Are you people crazy?
Running was never supposed to occurr more than to escape a scary spot(I.E. Monks dipping out with no energy and a dying team all around him/her).
Running was not supposed to be abused like it has been, and we all know it.
It was just a matter of time before they figured a way to stop running. The lazy have finally fallen. Play are fall to the wayside.

How has running been abused? If they really didnt want people to run droks, they wouldn'tve made a south exit from beacons because no L10's have any business going down there. Running is not an exploit and I dont know why people like you think using a skill to its fullest potential is EXPLOITING it, same damn thing with you people saying 55 monk is an exploit and should be nerfed.
Ecomancer
I have noticed that casters in Nightfall and Prophecies have an innate speed boost and seem to run faster then you even with sprint or doge. Sort of silly I do hope its a bug.
Loki Seiguro
<like i posted in some other threads
i can still run droks i did it 10 times yesterday with R/W using guildwiki.org build

So, this whole game is just about killing mob after mob, and nothing else? Bah...
Kai Nui
I can run everything up through the crystal desert and infusion runs on my mesmer, and I just did it for a friend recently so I have to say it isn't nerfed... lol.
leprekan
OMG it is so easy. Take ALL cookies out of your pockets before run.
Avarre
I have noticed some mobs like to chase more, but in general I haven't found running to be that much more difficult.
Alias_X
I used to do the Droks run a lot. Does anyone know the specifics on what has changed in that run?
