I usually just fight my way there but I decided to give running a try (though the opposite way - taking my dervish from LA to Ascalon City).
Didn't die a single time and used my standard play build (it does include avatar of balthazar which is has a +33% move rate to it). I'm sure having done it I could come up with a better build - for one thing I depended heavy on enchants and the stone summit have a large chunk of necro's with strip enchants (grrr, evil little things) and I had no hex removal.
I've never tried to run anything before, in fact part of Tasca's Demise (I think it is called - the northern most part with the stone summit above yaks bend) you go through is the first time I went through there and I got lost a few times.
Nightfall has made running MUCH simpler. I would not have been able to do that without some of the skills. And I *still* didn't use running skills or weapons/shields, just my regular skills.

necromancers, mesmers, elementalists, monks, everything follows you at 133%-150% speed always. This is either intentionally meant to screw CR'ers/runners or it's a bug. |
This is a true issue. The aggro system has changed with Nightfall and the changes apply to previous chapters aswell. The 2 big changes that will annoy runners are:
1. Many mobs got increased inherent speed, I've spotted different levels of this
- some are running 25% faster (+25% boost not enough to get rid of them but +33% works),
-some are 33% faster (you need to Dash to drop them),
-even some are 50% faster (Dash is not enough but teleporting into a target in front of you breaks the aggro)
2. A new problem which may be a bug : Breaking aggro of some mobs is now impossible or near impossible. Speed doesn't matter here and the monster may follow you around a whole map, even if you ran away very far from it. Even teleporting doesnt break this aggro.
If you want to see this feature/bug working, go run around Ice Floe - there will be always at least 1 Grawl Shaman that will follow you around whole map, unless you die. Or try Talus Chute where Avicaras are now faster than before and will chase you a very long way
