Afkers/Not-doing-their-job-ers Reportable?
scrinner
Are we able to report those that afk/leech in a game? What about those that walk but dont do anything. For example a monk follows the team but dont do their job. Are these viable grounds to report on?
death fuzzy
you cant get banned for being selfish.
Malice Black
Technically they are not doing anything wrong (people have different opinions on this) report away but nothing will come of it.
korcan
i was monking for a pug in gyala hatchery [we were about 10 minutes in] when one of our rangers tells the group that hes going to go afk to shower!
i didnt report him [probably useless] but he really pissed me off

But really, my opinion is it's definately wrong. Sure, you can AFK, but you shouldn't be rewarded for it, too. The problem is having a mechanism that can tell if you're really AFKing, without it being able to be fooled by simple bots/macros.
Clawdius_Talonious
I've had a monk that was following us drop, and I was our other monk, I had felt like I was the only one healing... By the time we beat the mission, I realized I probably was the only one healing, heh...
Enchanted Warrior
I've run across a new nuisance. It can be misread as rage quitting, but some join groups then wait 'til heavy fighting and quit. They are not mad etc, they just think it's fun to shaft the others.
Nice huh..

Sry to say this, but its not really a new nuisance. I've had this done in FoW/UW groups where they actually helped pay for the trip, then once inside take the quest and drag everything they can to you and say have fun and leave.

Just like real life, jerks will be jerks. You just get more exposure in-game due to the anonymity,
Zui
You can report anything. ANET actualy doing anything about it, is another thing. Leeching, and AFKing is not against the rules.
By the way, I suggest you just don't PUG, or do anything that pairs you with any random players on your side. (Why would you do so in the first place!?!?) No more leechers. No more AFKers.

On the rare occasion that I pug, I tell the group up front that I leave on leechers. I've monked for groups, and left when I saw someone standing around in the middle of a battle. And I usually end up taking the other monk with me. I don't support leechers or AFKers at all.

sykoone while I think that is the right idea some people might have an immediate emergency to take care of that only lasts but a few mins - so when you leave keep that in mind.
I have kids and don't do anything major group wise till they are in bed but if one screams out, I am going to bolt for a few mins without usually taking the time to say anything (once my daughter snuck out of bed and sliced her finger wide open). Basically sometimes things just happen and its not that they are griefers.
HOWEVER I HATE AFKERS AND FRIGGEN LEECHERS AND MOOCHERS AND RAGE QUITTERS -_- I really do wish Anet would come up with a feasable way of dealing with them. For the most part I stick to my guild groups who understand when I "bolt" which is rare but it happens. We also do not promote rage quitting in our guild unless the group is generally being a bunch of ****s and you've done nothing to promote their "anger".
However old topic, it happens, nothing atm that we can really do about it ;_;

the only way to get rid of this kind of griefing / leeching is a game world like in world of warcraft ( one map for everyone on the server ) and no instances.
whats that called ? static game world ?
that way you could kick someone anytime from your group or if you pull all the enemies in a map to kill your group you cant just click leave and stand in a safe outpost.
that just doesnt work in guild wars. its the way it is designed.
they could however try to implement a voting system where other group members could vote someone else out. that person would be kicked to the last outpost or something.
but there may be ways to exploit this...

Hence the addition of heroes. The pug will be less important as time goes by. Some like to tear down everything they can.. I think I heard it best expressed in the western "Tombstone"
"Doc, what drives a man like Ringo?"
"Hatred"
"Hatred? Hatred for what?"
"Being born.."
Or words to that effect. Sadly there are some truly miserable people in the world, that delight in trying to make everyone else just as miserable.

^ Or they just like to leech missions for their own proposes. Join a group and get through the mission without doing anything :\

Whereas there is nothing Anet will do about this, I personally won't get them through the mission. I'll leave and find another group. Generally I just use henchies or heros anyways so I don't have this problem often. But if its a brb phone, or something like that then its no big deal. As they most likely will come back as soon as they can.

Well it would be nice to be able to report people who stay afk through a whole mission or whatever - beacuse it can be VERY annoying, but sometimes (not always) something important might pop up, Or someone could be like me when i was in high school - and there parents could yell at them to 'get in here' or whatever - and you can't really help that. Or an important phone call could come up - so those people don't deserve to be banned, but someone who just dissapears, and doesnt say 'afk' or even tell you why and/or stays gone through the entire mission, but if Anet banned everyone that got a report sent on them for afking - some of those people who had an important reason would get banned to. It wouldn't be fair.
lacasner
Thats kinda complicated, in deciding what some one's intentions were for being afk x.x
Gorebrex
I like the "votekick" system myself. If it appears someones trying to leech a mission/bonus/whatever, rest of party can be rid of them. I believe that could very well stop leechers cold. I think you should pull your own weight, or get out.

Further, such a feature adds a cetain level of consequence for negative behavior...if you want to leech, announce your intention! Otherwise you risk being banned!
Now what we really need is a way to bring in Heroes mid mission to make up for DCers, Ragers, and these theoretical kickers...
