problem with gwen tapestry shred

hi everyone, ive give gwen 30 flowers and she still wont give me her tapestry shred, it shows her holding a cape and flute (tho i dont remeber giving her those...)

should i just transfer over the gwen items from a char im about to delete or keep trying?

I've read that if you party with someone that aleady has the tapestry shred, Gwen wont offer it to you. Did you go after the rez sig yet with someone or over the wall? They may have the shred already which would stop you from getting it.

no i hadnt been in a party with ANYONE when i tried this, yet she still had a cape and flute, which has me baffled, i never partied and went outside... but i hadnt given her these things either, do u think it will affect the gwen quest (when it eventually comes) if i dont get the tapestry shred directly from her?? plz dont tell me i have to restart already...

As I recall, if you party with anyone at any time ever before you get that shred who already has it, it will change your gwen permanently, and be impossible for you to get the tapestry shred for that character. Basically when you load with someone who already has it, it loads the "upadated" version of their gwen, which the server registers for you as well. At least, that's how I understand the issue works.

Oh geez, so this explains why only one of my chars has ever been able to get it >.< Apparently my habit of getting someone random to help me get the rez signet has done this then...

Yeah, you need to do the gwen thing before you ever party up with anyone.

so if i just buy a tapestry shred off of someone it will let me get the gwen quest (whenever ANET gives it to us after their many months of promises) because my gwen was updated?

I don't know what you're talking about with a gwen quest... unless you mean Gwen's broken flute...

Anet has never Promised, not once, to continue the Gwen story with another quest or information about her.

Its actually better that they don't, Gwen has become sort of their "running gag" through all the chapters and that mystery is ruined if we find out about her.

Alot of storys have sort of their running joke or running gag - Barely ever is this discontinued or brought to an end unless the story is ending, like the show is in its last season. Does the Rabbit ever get any Trix at the end of the commercial (barring that one bite he got by vote years ago)

I have the same problem. Gwen taked new flute, but don't take cape. I give flovers to Gwen all the time, I dance with Gwen, I play flute for Gwen but still no love

Not exactly sure if this is a running part to the Gwen quest. But in Nightfall you can find the preserved Red Iris Flower. I found it but havnt come across any npcs that will do anything. Anyone else know?
