Weather in nightfall?
Domino
I was wandering around Nightfall, trying to get 2500 sunspear points to proceed in the storyline, when out of nowhere it started raining....
is the weather cycle randomly generated or set? It only rained 2 times while I was exploring, and so I was unable to find any obvious pattern.
Has anyone else noticed weather effects outside of Nightfall?

no it depends where you go to get weather, although it would be cool if it would start raining at randomtimes

Based on the fact that you were trying to achieve Sunspear General, I'm guessing you were outside the fort in the Marsh (or whatever that zone is called) where the Acolyte of Melandru resides. I've experienced the rain too, it's cool.

It drizzled a couple of times while I was exploring the Marga Coast.

When I saw the rain I realized that my character had never had a bath. So i got naked and typed this:
/soap
/washcloth
/conditioner

yeh, weather effects are really nice. Adds a subtle touch to surroundings, pretty peaceful if just sit there while heroes do the work. :P

I also noted that it rains in Marga Coast from time to time.

Elona being African based, and me being of little knowledge of the African continent.. shouldn't we have monsoon season at some stage in Elona?

Have we not always had this? In Foibles Fair ( pre ) it will start raining once in a while. I just had my ele there yesterday and it was drizzling.
Living Ghost

OK, time to clarify - The weather is NOT RANDOM. I repeat, NOT Random. Pay attentionto where you ae when it rains. It only rains on a certain spot when you walk into it. On the Marga Coast it's right by the center part with the building that has all the Kournan guards on it, in the other areas, the same type of thing. It's in a speicifc spot where it rains and it just seems random b/c you can run into and out of it pretty easily without a secodn thought. Truth is, is it's always raining in those areas.
I had thought the same thig when I first saw the rain, but then decided to investiagate it... so a nice thought it is/was, but yeah.. not random occurance.

But talking about the "Africa-ish" of Nightfall... I am only in Vabbi with my most advanced Character.... Are there any cool mazes in Pyramids? Giraffes?
I love the trees btw, and the bird sounds. Good job ANet!

As a large part of Africa is located in the tropical/sub-tropical regions, they do tend to have "rainy" seasons which cover about six months of the year. This, of course, can be thrown off by global weather pattern changes.
Physical obstacles such as mountain ranges and large bodies of water affect other areas.
