got a req 9 15^50 ruby hammer off a chest..

been getting alota good rares.. one wand that had a 20 recharge mod... its worth it

dont know about chest drops, but the first gold i found in NF.
Soul Spire.
20% global recharge,
insignia was a 20% soul reap cast

if i can find a staff mod with 20% death or insignia with 20% death, i would be well off

well, dont know about the skin, but i like it.

After opening about 50 Margonite chests, I've sold four of the drops for 150k in total. Easily covered the cost of keys

Vabbi keys have less of a benefit, but are much faster to run.

I must be the lone dog here because I get purple and gold all the time from chests. I havent gotten a blue or anything else from chests yet. And all the weapons and items I have been getting are almost always max stats.

My first ever chest I opened in Elona was from a key drop nearby. I opened the chest and lo and behold, a gold 9-41 ornate scythe with strength and honor mod 15^50 +5 defense.

Strange I've already made 100k off of 50k in keys and I've not even sold half the golds I've found.

We been getting 2-3 golds a person in Vabbi if we open all the chests and open them in the same order. Usually 5 or 6 chests per area. It's a lot of money but if you get those titles up you get a better salvage rate. Now the drops from monsters have been few and far between, we have each gotten about 3 gold drops now in all of Elona.

@Megamouse, you cant get a blue item in a chest. I have been running in the desolation area and i got 1 fiery blade axe, 1 icy blade axe and a couple other golds, over 30 purps :/

From how many chests I have opened, around 50, about 30% of the drops have been gold...very low drop rate imo compared to the recent campaigns.

I got a decent paragon shield from one the rest were purple (out of 30 opened chests)

Ok i added my numbers up and this is what I got..yeah i actually kept records of my chest drops in nightfall

Number of Keys Bought :213
Number of Golds from Chests: 2
Number of Purples from Chests :208 ( i must not have recorded 3 of them)
Number of Max dmg items (purple and gold) :47
Number of Runes: 32
Number of Chest items that ended up as vendor trash : 161
Number of Chest Items sold to players :3 (total value 72k)

Now my numbers are no where near perfect cause well..i know there were a few times i forgot to record what the outcome of the chest was. But still you can see that in my personal experience...the chests are just not worht my time anymore and given the extra cost of keeping your hero in good weaponry...I just cant afford to get vendor trash from chests.

I was trying to get a green scythe in Vabbia and found a lot of chests to open during my run in that area. I needed a few weapons for my heroes (across several characters) so I purchased some keys.

Right now my Dervish pretty much has all of her heroes with max golds and quite a few inscriptions (I have not bothered to check if the skins are worth anything yet - I will before I customize them). The other characters have quite a few purples. not bad - lots cheaper than purchasing the same weapons from crafters and building them. The highest req of anything I found was 11, most were 9 and a few 10.

*shrug* if you expect to make it really rich by chest farming you will be disappointed. I found this much more true in Tyria and Cantha - my chest drops skill mostly go to the traders there. It's mostly a gold sink and was designed as so.

But then, that's the idea behind "random" anyway. Someone get horrid, someone gets great, in the end we all equal out.

When I played through Vabbi I opened every chest I ran into. I actually got more golds than purples, but practically all of them were req. 13. I did get a sweet load of good inscriptions off them though. The Desolation gave me a lot less golds, but more useful ones. The Realm of Torment has been a total loss so far though. Over 50 chests opened, and not a gold yet.

On average not only in Elona i have felt the average of chests being Gold drop since the update rather than just be Gold or Purple per player.

I've opened around 300 chests, got about 40-60 gold from them. Not sure a lot of purples, a lot of gold, really good inscriptions on them. I'm pretty lucky though, although when I get 5 purples from margonite chests it's annoying.

i opened 40 chestst wiht my dervish and i got about 30 gold from it. 3/4 of all chests for me were golden so dont talk bullshit ok?

Quite. I got 7 golds in a row from Ancient Elonian Chests whilst edge-walking for my GMD title...I thought it was a joke when it kept going and going...

1 chest in 150,000 sounds far too low to me...and then what would be the point in buying keys if you're pretty much not going to even have a vague chance in getting a gold? According to you the chance of me getting those 7 golds in a row is 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000585. (i think that is (1/150000)^7...)

[Edit: before someone rips me to shreads for suggesting it might be possible to get more than 1 gold in a row...I have had PLENTY of purples...I'm only making my point. Just felt I should clear that up...]
