4/5 stars.

Pros: Hero system adds an interesting dimension; intriguing and entertaining new classes.

Cons: Controlling your Heroes effectively in combat can be pretty difficult.

The most legitimate criticism you can make against Nightfall is that it requires just a bit too much grinding from veteran players before they're allowed to experience the stuff they really want to see -- the campaign missions. In order to become eligible for some of the missions, you'll have to have advanced through a ranking system implemented into the game (think rep grind). The most effective way to do this is by acquiring bounties from guard NPCs in the game's explorable areas, and killing the sorts of creatures you've been assigned to hunt. This is fine for new players, who have to level anyway, but it's something of an annoying barrier for level-capped players who simply want to jump into the new content.
I think this was from the eariler discussions post release about having to earn 2500 Sunspear points for Sunspear general inorder to trigger the primary quest. Which was later dismissed since the quests around the area provided fair amount of Sunspear points to cover the balance anyways.

Why is it so hard to grasp for people - use the bounties while doing quests. Doing the Setting up the Command Post quests, and the Dejarin Estate quests, with bounties, gives you plenty of sunspear points (in fact, my Ranger got general doing those quests with bounties, which only took a couple of hours).

I think this is a good review overall.

I don't find Hero management all that hard, but it took a day or so to really get the hang of 'micro-managing' the flags.

When I PUG, I still find a lot of people who rush around and don't use them any better than they used to use henchmen. I'm often tempted to try and argue -FOR- using my lower level heroes simply because I feel I know how to manage them better...

(Lacking the high levels of older players, I can't power level my heroes as fast by taking them to end game locations - so they may be behind in levels, but the way I see some high level heroes run around... they're being wasted on some people).
