i want to know

i want to know if the basic classes of guild wars are also in the newest guild war editions, so please help me because i want to buy it but i don't know what one to choose xD or are factions and nightfall just expansions and do you still need the first one Dx

Yes you are able to play eg not only Dervish and Paragon in Nightfall you can make the basic class's (everything excluding Assassin and Dervish in Nightfall, only basic in Prohpecies: No assassin, ritualist, dervish paragon etc.)

You dotnt need the first one to play a new one eg if you bought Nightfall you dont need Prohpecies t play it.

Get Prophecies or Nightfall (first or third), but Nightfall has the bigger population right now so I'd start with that. Factions isn't a good place to start and unless you plan on PvPing from the start. Unless you really like the other chapters and want to fill out the story/skill choices I don't recommend getting it.

does nightfall also have the quests of the first one or only the quest of nightfall itself?

Nightfall only has the Nightfall content, i.e. all quests on the continent of Elona. The original GuildWars (aka "Prophecies") plays on the continent of Tyria. In order to be able to travel from Elona to Tyria you must buy both Nightfall and Prophecies.

Do you mean if you can access Prophecies from Nightfall? If so, no. Each chapter brings its own unique skills, quests, missions and worldmap, and Nightfall and Factions bring two unique classes each. Like The Silver Star said, you don't need the first chapter to play the third, the story isn't linked much either (you just meet some NPCs from the first chapter in the other two).
