Need Factions pet help

My level 20 ranger has travelled from tyria to cantha and would like to change her pet from a wolf to a tiger or white tiger. However, I don't know where to go. Where do I find a tamer and where do I find a tiger to tame?

Also, if I do manage to charm a new pet, what level will it be?

First off, you can release your current pet at any tamer in either campaign. It's probably best that you talk to the one outside Ascalon City, since you already have access there.

The orange tigers can be found all over the tutorial island and are level 3, I believe (it's been a while since I was there). The white versions inhabit the Echovald Forest, where the Kurzick storyline takes place. They are level 5, with some exceptions...for example, there's a Lvl 15 Elder White Tiger that is charmable, but requires some practice and/or luck. The thread about it is found here.

Pets typically start at 5.

There is a tamer right outside Ascalon, just use him.
