Double MM heroes... could it work? (aka. Minion Master Master - MMM build)

I'm taking my time and unlocking lots of hero skills through PvP, so I haven't gotten to Master of Whispers in the nightfall storyline yet. I'm at Kodonur Crossroads, so just a mission and a few quests away.

So what I'm wondering is this: has anyone tried putting both necros in a party together as MMs? I wonder if giving both necros just Vampiric Horrors as their animate spell would allow them to eventually build up a full army each, and not both try to grab the same corpse very often. With a full army of Vamp horrors, they could easily use Order of Undeath as their elite, and be healed from the 45% sacrifice of Blood of the Master with 20 minions. They'd also need a good self heal to keep BotM going out of battle, but should easily be able to keep the whole army alive indefinitely with 2 necros casting it, as long as you stopped every 10 seconds or so to give them a chance to cast it. Bring either monk henchy along and they will keep the Necros going. Throw in Dark Bond for if they get targetted, Signet of Lost Souls for in battle healing, and a few offensive spells to help get the corpses started rolling in.

For the other hero spot, I'd think a command paragon with Go for the Eyes, Aggressive Refrain, and Focused Anger, along with a few other shouts that affect all allies (not just party members) could make for a pretty powerful group build. Hmmm, you might even give the necro's a paragon secondary and 7 command each so you can chain "Fall Back!" and counteract some to most of the minions degen while on the move.

Well, I'll give this build a shot here in a few more missions and see how it works out. 20 minions with OoU and criticals left and right should rock though.

No. Each Hero will fight for corpses, and will not relent once they have a full army (a common practice in 2 MM groups).

There just won't be enough corpses.

Don't forget that when one of the Necromancer Heroes tries to use Blood of the Master, he'll lose almost half his life.

I got masters on Vizunah with my warrior by bringing both necro heroes as MM. While it works in Vizunah, I don't reccomend having 2 MM almost anywhere else.

It does work, albeit you have to watch their healt when they sac for minion healing. Honestly, a better setup is to go MM and curses necro.

I'd go along with the Vizunah statement.
Factions Missions were more of a rush experience so the faster through the map the betterand MM's gave that amout of speed to a party
Also the amount of afflicted in those missions made it's fairly easy to not even use BotM once apart from the intervals between different battles.

Nightfall however does generally not require fast completion time unless stated otherwise and those particular missions don't require two MM's.
I've tried setting them both up with a sort of different build using different minions but i've quickly changed ideas and not bothered taking two since.
Olias is set up as MM and i tend to use him quite often coz he does it with such finesse whereas MoW is a Curses (I myself go blood) so theres a good diversity.

Two MM's is an over kill if you ask me. I run three animates, (horrors, fiends, vamp/shambling) and take BotM, jagged bones, death nova. The hero AI is great for this. If ones dieing he puts jagged bones and nova on it. Minion explodes and you got a new one ready for battle instantly.

I would agree with the MM and curses necro, rather than 2 MMs. SS doesn't seem to be used as often anymore, which is a shame.

Yes it does work, but depends heavily on location where corspe are aplenty but not recommended for day to day questing/missioning.

Other than Vizunah i have used double MMs on some farming trips to speed through some more packed locations, the speed at which you make kills with 2 MMs in some locations are highly noticeable.

I ran 2 MMs (one w 16 Death (Fiends), another (primarily SS) w 13 Death (Horrors)) and BoTM is rough on them, but every mob is a cakewalk. Playing a melee character was sad b/c everything was dead by the time you got to it.

Me and my friend ran 4 MMs without any healing spells.. Once we had 40 minions we /resigned and watched them destroy some monsters when they became wild.. Very very fun!

botm is mutually exclusive on allied minions- is order of undeath the same way?

the nice thing about cpu-mm's is their ability to utilize death nova and jagged bones with the grace of norgu's reversal interrupts

As a Necromancer myself, I run double MM with Olias. Its nice that I can see his skill bar to know when he is going for a corpse.

Some areas we don't have enough corpses. Which is why Olias has the MM build I stole from Zinger, N/Me with interrupts (leech signet, power drain). I'll disable his minion skills and let him interrupt.

Areas with enough corpses, we plow through.

If the area doesn't have enough corpses though, you have quite a few wasted skill slots, I'd only recommend doing it if you know there will be plentiful corpses.
