What happened to the noisy armor sounds?

What happened to the new noisy armor sounds? Seems like they toned it down again. I liked it better when it had all the metal sounds right when Nighfall came out!
Slainster
mmmm good point, i havent heard them for a while..
Emik
Afaikthey are still there.
I just think it differs from profession.
For instance i noticed my necro not amking them anymore however my warrior just yesterday still had the clinging going on.
Maybe that's the reason?

They probably made it only happen for certain armors, and I believe different/lighter sounds for armors that look like cloth etc. But in any case, I still hear it on other people in towns and whatnot.

well my warriors armor doesnt sounds as heavy, and my rangers armor doesn't sounds as metallic anymore :\

Diablo???
At first I liked it, but eventually I just grew tired of all that noise, almost sounded like I had a bad audio card. I'm sort of glad it's no longer there...
... I thought I was mentally blocking it out

some rangers armor has metal parts on it
Lmao Roflus
Generally Ranger armor isn't metallic, but Studded Leather armor is the only exception because it uses Steel or Deldrimor Steel as crafting materials. I guess Studded Leather Obsidian armor could count but nobody crafts that version anyway.
TsunamiZ
they should make the sounds armor specific
Contempt
I liked it except it was annoying when it made the noise in town.
labsenpai
I noticed my non-metallic monk makes a jingling sound as she plods along. Used to be just a faint "thmp".

Sir Skullcrasher
I remember the wammo i had, I can hear armor sound like chains or something whenever he is running around. But last night, I couldn't hear anything when i moved him around towns.

I should look up and point you to that big long 13+ page petition against that sound thing because it was too loud. A.net won't change something back to the way it was if one person happened to like it more but +200 people were violently ticked about it.
arcanemacabre
I kinda liked the sound on my Ritualist - ya know, with all the dangling coins all over her. It did, after all, sound kinda like spare change.
TsunamiZ
they should just make it a tick option in sound options
Div
Hurray for armor sounds
Sable Phoenix
If they're really gone, then hurray!
I can't express how annoying the keyring armor was. Especially on my Mesmer and Elementalist, both of whom have not a buckle on them.

The armor sounds are still there. As far as I can tell, two things happened:
1) The volumes were significantly reduced, or maybe they changed the sounds. They do seem more subdued in any case. Or to some people, less annoying.
2) A number of bugs were fixed. Specifically, armor sounds incorrectly matched to armor types. They seem much more appropriate, at least on my characters. Also, remember how pets used to jingle? lol
Generally speaking, I've noticed you can't really hear those sounds that much if there's any sort of significant noise or music playing. Try turning down everything but effects and you'll probably hear them.
Oh, and something else... If you turn the audio quality slider all the way off, the armor sounds disappear. If you turn it to minimum + 1, the armor sounds (plus footsteps) only play for you, not your party members. At middle or above, it seems to play for everyone. I haven't been able to figure out if the higher settings do anything more.

i think they should make the sounds more specific to armor type. i just put on a different paragon chest armor and the sounds are back again. but i dont think that armor should make much plate metal sound.
