Different Ascensions?

Is Ascension in Factions different from Ascension in Prophecies?

I brought an ascended character from Factions over to Prophecies. Do I have to do the Ascension missions in Proph as well? Or can I just skip over the whole process?

What is it that you wish to do? If you just want to get into the Realms of the Gods in Tyria then you are good to go. If you want access to Dragon's Lair and Tombs then you'll have to get thru the ascension missions in order to fight the doppleganger and get to D.L.

If you want to get to Droks without a runner or fighting there from Beacons then you go thru ascension as well.

So it all depends on your goals.
