Need some help friends, I just changed the analog cable from the video card to the LCD screen with a digital DVI cable, and it works great while not playing. When I start the game, the game is set to use [email protected] refresh which the screen does not support through DVI, only 60Hz refresh is OK. The game starts and the screen goes black while the intro music is playing. Can anoyne tell me how to change the refresh rate for the game to 60Hz, maybe with a "safe mode" switch? All the video options are within the game, and I cannot get to them since the screen turns black within 5 seconds. Thanks!
Refresh rate with DVI

The last post should work. You can also check your video settings by right-clicking on your desktop wallpaper, the select properties. Go to Settings Tab -> Advanced button -> Monitor Tab. Verify that monitor refresh rate is set to 60hz.
DVI is capped at 60hz, so forcing higher non-supported refresh rates will only cause video sync problems.

Well, it didn't work in windowed mode or anything else I tried, new drivers for the monitor and the video card etc. Anytime I started the game, the screen goes black after a few seconds. It happens also with Kyodai Mahjongg, so I guess the trouble is not with the refresh but with the video card (ATI Radeon 9200) support for DVI. When I tried playing Age of Mythology, it started OK. Maybe trouble with OpenGL? Anyway, I changed the cable back to analog and everything is OK, the game starts fine. If you have any suggestions on how to solve this problem with DVI cable, please tell me! Stay well and thanks for the replies.
It has nothing to do with your graphics card. Most Lcds will only operate at 60Hz in digital mode. It really isn't a major problem. In fact refresh rates really only effect CRT monitors. Lcds don't actually refresh at all. not in the traditional sense anyways. It's a mute point. Set it to 60. You will see no difference.
