Traveler Title - No map-warp
actionjack
Just a side idea, but a hard earn title similar to that of Survior, where you earn by meeting the requirement without using any Map-Travel/Warp in you play.
True Adventurer: Finish the game (play all missions) with out any Map-travel
True Traveler: Explore 70% (or above) of the chapter with out using any Map-travel

Is it along the same lines as survivor? where if you use it, you lose it? personally, i would get frustrated and /wrist myself after a while. interesting concept though, they need more original titles
Jesse
sounds like a fun concept but hard to accomplish and possibly hard to mold into the game. This might not work because some area are locked and might ahve a gate in front of them. If anet could figure a way to do this and not have any exploited glitches so people could get traveld there with a group...it would be an awsome title

Except there are some instances where map travel is required, such as going from the southern shiverpeaks to the crystal desert to do the second 15 attribute point quest....

Yes, its suppose to be one of the hard earn (and for most people, uncessary) title that you could show it off just because.
Yes, you would not be able to get the title if you do use map-travel any time befoe you reach the requirement. I guess once you get the title, you could map-travel with out penality (but would stop you from gettting the future level on that title)
Jesse: If a area is lock or have a gate... that mean you would need to turn and Walk back to where you come from! (I guess you might get trap in some place... but some exception could be made...)

Doom Runehammer
It would certainly be an opportunity for runners to make some cash, but then, it would be unnatainable to all already made characters, I know I speak for multiple people, when I say that I don't want to remake my character just to get one extra title.
Metasynaptic
Make map travel from town to town ok, but if you wimpy out and map travel while inside a zone, title lost.

I absolutely despise any title that requires you to make a new character.

I confess to being utterly confused!
You want a title which you achieve by finding all the locations within a campaign, by NEVER teleporting from one outpost/town/city to another?
By purely walking.
Doesnt sound that hard to me.
Especially for Elona where I found most places on the map within 1 day and I didnt have a clue where they were.
I would have achieved that 70% title very easily.
The problem then is this....
..lets say you have -60dp.
You cant teleport back to a location or its lost.
So do you walk all the way back to the near location? (which again isnt hard in Elona because most places are close to towns - but in larger maps it could be).
Or do you simply exit the game while in an instance? Because we all know that when you log back in, you will be in the nearest town. But will that count as teleporting?
I think it would be too prawn to people making mistakes and either exiting while in instances or teleporting without realising.
Is there even a way the program can distinguise between teleporting and simply walking to a town?

even if this idea was implemented. You can imagine it will be so bugged against missions people are going to be pulling their hairs.

well if you have 60dp or something like that you can type /resign and u return to last outpost you were in sooo your not map traveling an u get back to town easily saving you alot of time like for example u want to explore talus chute u run outta droks explorte all u want /resign then ur back at droks and can explore out to the next area

What a complete dumb grinding title.
/notsigned.
* Why restrict yourself from features?
* New characters?
* Boring, what is the point of running around?

Its an interesting title...but the way GW is made...just makes this title a little bit x.X

Exploring the entire continent of any chapter with no map travel would be a pretty tough thing to do. I like it.
and 90% of the other titles in Guildwars aren't Grinding titles?

I like the idea, clearly there are some loopholes that would need to be addressed, but if Anet likes this idea, clearly they can implement it and figure out those loopholes, then if/when they release it, we as the gaming community will rip it apart so that they have to reconfigure it, like we always do! Yay! But seriously I do like the idea, would be challenging.

Though i kinda like the idea, for instance i installed a mod for Elder scrolls Oblivion wich cancels maptravel so you have to walk/ride everywhere. but that 's a single person rpg. I can imagine the next situation for GW lol
Guildie: can you come and help me in Thirsty River?
You: sure no problem just give me a hour to get there i 'm in the Fort Ranik area atm.
so unless logging off outside a town/outpost does'nt break the title so you can change character i dont think it will be a popular title to get.

*the use of /resign can be count as a map teleport (not taken that into consideration as I don't use that command often)
*Its not that hard of title to earn, and certainly have loopholes, but would seem still need some effort to achieve it.
*Its suppose to be as pointless as the Survior title.

It wouldn't be possible in Nightfall because some primary quests require you to go back to Kamadan from the mainland, which can only be accessed via map travel.
