Hi, I am a W/Mo, and I have tried loads of different farming builds and gone out there and faced the trolls. In all the videos and SCreenies, you see all the trolls in a small bunch around you, easy to kill. But when I go out and face them, they continuously run away from me and heal then come back at full life, leaving me facing only around 4 at a time.
Why does this happen to me, and nobody in the videos?
I dont understand it..please help..
I have an issue with all types of troll farming

Its because of the latest AI update, melee creatures now run away from AoE skills.

Damn... I spent so much money on those builds aswell..

sorry to sound like the biggest noob ever wot is AoE ???

Area of Effect damage. Things like smiting skills, cyclone axe, etc...all do damage to everyone in the area of effect.

To the OP - although it is slower, you can simply replace some of the AoE skills you are utilizing for pure damage skills.
I can still take on a group of 8 trolls with my W/Mo, but I have to kill them one at a time. It's slower, but it still works.
Bring Dolyak Signet, a couple of stances, some of the healing skills from the original farming build, and then take 3 attack skills. You should be fine.

Also it doesn't have to be "AoE" dmg in the old sense. When you are "farming" (1-2 people in your party) melee type monsters in crowds will run off and regen health on alot of things.

man this is annoying...Guess its off to the hydras for me, before they make elemenatals run too.. -_-

If there is more than 3 hydras in the group then yes, they will run off.
