Need some help doing Moddok Crevice
noblepaladin
Hello, I am trying to beat the game with heroes and hench only. I am stuck on the Moddok Crevice mission using my monk. I got to the very end where I need to kill The Hunger, but those 8 archers on the top keep killing me when I get close. The advice on GuildWiki said to nuke them from a distance, but I am a monk and I don't have any nuke spells. Does anybody have any ideas on how to kill them (I tried looking for a way up the bridge so I can fight them on even ground, but I can't find one).

Uh....it does not have to be YOU that does the nuking. You said you brought heroes+hench right?

Two solutions:
1.) Run past the archers, hunger and general to the back of the cave out of bow range, and fight the hunger and general there. (my favorite)
2. Stand directly below the bridge and fight the hunger and general there. Because Line of sight is interrupted the Archers become a non-issue.

Additional solutions:
1) Bring both ele heroes, give them Searing Heat.
2) Bring a W/* or a /W and give him "Shields Up!" and "Watch Yourself!"
3) Bring Shield of Absorption and/or Guardian.

1) Shield of absorbption was made for this type of spikes. Aegis is good too.
2) Run over the bridge, past the Hunger all over to the other side. You might want to order henchies to run first.

step 1: equip longbow (yes you are a monk, no you don't have to kill him with it, just pull)
step 2: pull hunger seperately
step 3: kill hunger
step 4: pull bayel (all of the archers above run around and down to center at this point)
step 5: send in tactical nuke as outlined by previous posters. SS/reckless haste works quite well here additionally.
edit: I did this part when my guildy and his 3 heroes glitched out behind the locked gates.
what I had left were me: barrage/interrupt/go for the eyes
tahlkora: active prot
olias: ss curses
melloni: my own patented avatar of lyssa build.
Needless to say without an active healer, I had to be carefull about damage taken, so I thought creatively and tactically...you should too.

Those all sound nice and all, but you don't even need to "make" a build.
A random build for any random area is fine.
Just put your hench positioning flag right under the bridge.
Arrows don't penetrate walls ya know.

You can pull The Hunger away from the Rangers.

How about arrows with inherent 20/20 Rock Wall Penetration?
I usually just wand/shoot the archers to get my casters and rangers to attack them, and take them down that way. My ele hero uses Searing Flames and I always take Odurra (mesmer hench) so they don't last long. Running to the back sounds quicker, but I've never done it.

My problem with this mission is getting masters. I didn't even see the 2 runners when Dunkoro starts talking about them and then the goals thing triggered again saying 3 of 4 which is the point I think it was too late. Later I saw and killed two runners but they were just standing there and it didn't count toward the bonus.
