Ascalon arena needs to be fixed

Just went in there with at-level armour and at-level skills on my little level 10 ranger only to meet a slew of droks armoured elite skill using people who seem to need a gigantic advantage over their enemy to fight them. Amazing this kind of twinking has been allowed to endure in the face of anet's balanced game policy and all that, it's also an imbalance in the balth faction system, as using elites and droks armour in a level 10 arena makes it almost certain you will win flawlessly every match you do.

All anet need to do is make it impossible to wear armour better than the best sets ascalon can provide, elites can stay cos they are sometimes part of the package, armour swapping is already impossible during pvp

Well, with Drok runs nerfed, that should "solve" some of the problem.

I wouldn't bother with it, it's all IW Mesmers and SS Necros... and the Faction sucks too.

I met a guy a while back that wanted a run through a mission to get to Kiening so he could get max armour and 'own' everyone in the shing jea arena.

Just what is the point? how do you get any enjoyment from beating people in an unfair contest?

needless to say, I declined his pleading to take him along.

This problem has been around for ages, but ... it doesn't really matter?

If this is as common as you say it is, then people won't win all the matches they enter, as there wil be a lot of Droks armor vs Droks armor matches.

Besides, Its ascalon arena -__- If you want real PvP play RA :P

You also have to consider, the amount of faction you win from those areas is fiddlesticks compared to the battle isles.

This needs to be in the Sardelac. Along with the many other threads about this issue.

But some people want to play as it was intended. Check out the avatar, FOW armor on Cottage Pie. You think she can't afford a run and max armor? It's about integrity, and a little fun at a lower level.

What levels are we talking about here if they are lower than you and your armour is Ascalon Max.it wouldn't be that hard to beat some of them seeing as you have higher attributes than them.This what they don't understand all Droks armour is really meant for is PvP if you look at the Avicara and StoneSummit around Droks you see thier armour is al 39 to 40.Yeap I have seen Ranger with Droks armour in Yaks Bend arena with Poison Arrow.

Im sure people do this in the sunspear arena with getting a ferry to consulate docks.But there arent many people there anyways.

Simple solution:

Make an unremovable enchant, which sets your armor level to the max level which is obtainable for your class in ascalon

Just like the wintersday, dragon arena ones ^^

The armour isn't really a significant problem. What is a problem is people bringing level 20 pets into the arena, the damage they do is simply insane.

Of course I don't expect it to be fixed, people will only be in those arena's for so long before they have to move on.

when I used to fight in AA, I had no trouble playing there with my ascalon armour, I got my first 1k faction there, and I was only level 8.

I only got the game 2 days before the end of wintersday though, dunno when twinkers started showing up, cause I never remembered anyone who I kept gettings 0's or 1's against

RA is fun. Don't knock it.

Sure, I know most people laugh at that statement, and don't think RA is "real" PvP. It's "real", it's just not the "same".

RA isn't about forming nicely balanced, well-coordinated teams and working like a well-oiled machine to destroy your equally organized opponents.

RA is about being dropped into a pit with a bunch of total strangers, doing your personal best, and learning on-the-fly to work with- and usually compensate for the shortcomings of- your team.

It's very immediate, very visceral, and, in my opinion, rewarding.

But no... you sure as HELL can't take it seriously. Do that and you'll put your mouse through your monitor within the first hour. ^_^

Anet doesn't have a balanced game policy. You'll know what I mean if you go to HA or GvG. or RA, or TA, or AvA, pretty much every PvP arena has builds that completely dominate every other build because of the broken skills.
