i think its more of a language issue here...
i am not keen on giving unacurate guesses about numbers
but i can tell you ALOT of players do not master the english language!
therefor just don't get it when you ask them to type /resign, they just dont have a clue if you are messing with them or trying to scam them,
for example: mad king thorn comes on halloween, starts his games, players start telling around press ALT+F4 to get the hat, or press F12+Enter to get the hat...
telling people what to type like 'Type /resign' is not exactly what most people enjoy!
so either way they are scared for what it might do
or they just don't understand what it means
Why do people never use RESIGN? and just leave

Not sure if anyone replied anything similar but i have noticed that since the /resign command has been introduced that more and more people start to use it.
So that means that the mouth to mouth spreading of this command seems to have it's effect.
Not sure if this is my personal awareness to this but it's been apparent to me at least.

Anyways, if someone in the group doesn't resign for whatever reason, frankly, I'm better off without them when we reform the group back in town.

Saelfaer has a good point, imo. More so than the "they are imbecils" comments.
The first time a pug told me to resign, I too wondered if it's some trick. I did it only after I saw <Random Name> has resigned. a few times.
But that's fine, I don't mind paranoia what I mind is the jerks that stand back and have a laugh, on purpose. Quit if you don't like the team, just don't waste our time.
Btw, what do Italian/German/etc players type? dimetter/abfinden?

I have not once been in a random PUG that was capable of getting all 8 people to use /resign. Unlike quitting out, if 6 people /resign, nothing happens and everyone continues to stand there looking stupid.
Also, when quitting out, the six people who know how to follow directions form the new party, so it's self-selecting.
/resign would be useful when playing with people you know. But in a random pickup, anything that requires all of your teammates to actively do something is doomed to fail.
