I HATED Mirrodin, and acualy quite the game for a while because of it. Competative play was almost completly ravager or anti-ravager...
Hated Kamigawa as well, although I did enjoy Ravnica.
Dominaria will always be home.

I think we need to stop looking at what would be cool to what is cool, because out of all the games there has been nothing but proffesions that look like humans. But i think you are right about many new places to see since gw4 isent the last game

And I don't think Anet would dare to not allow us to bring our old chars to any of the new games. At least I don't see that happen, ever.

Anet needs to come up with something original for a change. I don't want to see a bunch of continental sterotypes thrown at me for the 3rd time.
ANET! Can you give me Guild Wars 2? Can you finish the classic story that you started instead of these yawn-a-thawn side stories?
I want to know what happens to the White Mantle after the collapse of their Mursaat support. Does the old Krytan regime return? There was that quest with that Krytan princess or whatever but that went no where...
What about Ascalon? Stormcaller anyone? It was said to destroy the Charr once and for all but that whole story was left undone. Does King Adelbern return Ascalon to it's former glory?
Then there is the whole Ascalon Settlement in Kryta. Wouldn't it make sense that they would eventually become a large nation, probably in direct opposition to the Krytans?
What if in the name of Prince Rurik, Captain Greywind rebuilds their strength and decides to march to Old Ascalon to "liberate" its citizens from the very king that denounced them? It certainly could happen.
The whole Shiverpeak civil war was left in uncertainty, sure Deldrimor retook their capital city, but who really wins in the end of that war? Do they settle their differences with the Stone Summit or what?
I have plenty more "what if" scenarios but it would be pointless to continue. I know Guild Wars Prophesies was notorious for its pitiful storyline but I personally feel that it had the potential to be so much greater. The storyline is stuck like this because backstories are pretty much frozen in this style of gameplay.
The only answer I could ever get out of this game would be a Guild Wars 2, something that takes place in the not to distant future. Something that actually ties loose ends. Nightfall apparently was supposed to tie some loose ends, but they were of the absolute useless loose ends.
Laugh at me if you want but I have always been passionate about the Guild Wars storyline and I know that FACTIONS IS NOT GUILD WARS, NIGHTFALL IS NOT GUILD WARS.
What turned into a simple post, became an angry rant. The Eye of Janthir would look at me in shame.

I've noticed that the gods play an increased role in each installment. In Factions, there were a few cutscenes and missions that revolved around the gods, and you see them and the celestials. In Nightfall, Abbadan (sp?) is a Hades-like god that really throws a shadow on the entire plot. It seems like the characters have closer encounters with gods in each campaign.
So, I don't know what that means for the Antarctican world.
But if I were guessing with no prior knowledge about possible new continents, I think I'd focus on something imaginary. That is to say, cities in the clouds (a continent that lies predominantly in the clouds) would be neat. People wearing long robes and being very pious or zen could populate the areas. They could actually live in places where the gods supposedly used to live or something like that. I dunno, I've really just got my mind on KOTOR right now, and I love those elevated platforms.
And another idea would be Ireland. Ireland has those extraordinarily green, rolling hills. It would have to be different than Kryta for sure, though.
Or under the sea!
Or a little bit of everything.
Or just permafrost. And eskimo coats! And pet penguins. OH, and a whole new line of seal jokes. And clubs. For hitting the seals.
^.^;; I'm feeling silly. Those are all of my thoughts. I wasn't really thinking South America. I mean, it would be so different from the real history of those people. It would have to not focus on Spanish conquistadors, as it would be a game about spreading disease to everyone and then sailing back to the queen.

I started out with Factions. I mean, I bought Prophecies one week later (after I got paid again
), but I don't favor one over the other. I've heard longtime Prophecies players speak about Factions, and they've given some negative reviews. I know one woman who dislikes Cantha because she thinks the players spend too much time in slums. But then I look at Kaineng City and I actually like it. It really feels like roleplay. Factions is a Guild Wars game, and believe it or not, it is enjoyable as a standalone. The forest made out of stone and the sea made out of jade are wonderful environments to explore. I've spent time paying attention to what all of the little NPCs say, and Canthans have personality, too.
The stories in each campaign differ vastly.
And Nightfall is a blast. I wasn't so sure I was going to like it but I'm really enjoying myself.
Perhaps you just enjoy things that are like Prophecies. Factions does, however, bring a lot of things to the table, and I think you're taking it for granted. Factions seems to have a lot more human enemy types, which I really like about it.
I have seen multiple users post on this forum about how they want to see more development of the pre-existing Tyrian lore, so I understand that people want that. I don't think it would necessarily be a bad addition, but I don't think I'd have any interest in a Guild Wars 2 that exclusively expands on Prophecies.
