Where can I find these guys? I want to make an alliance with Kurzick inparticular. I was told by someone to search the guild halls? I tried, but only found Cath ambs...

Go to the Temple of Balthazar, you'll find both the Kurz and Lux ambassadors
Where you can do 2 different kurz vs lux missions for faction
(the starting PVP place, where the random arenas etc are)

Hey this brings about an interesting prospect: Can PvE guys who take the temple abassadors to the CM areas exit those places and start Factions there?

Damn, I don't have Factions, only Proph and NF

Go test this for me then Brimstonez. Log on as a PvE toon and go to the Balth Islands and talk to an Kurzick/Luxor ambassador, then try to go outside.

Just tried, turns out I was wrong, those two are for PVP only characters

I have an Epic Trial Key (Both Proph and Factions). If I make an alliance (Kurzick/Luxon)...will that alliance keep after the 10 hour/14 day trial ends, or do I lose it
?

To allign your guild with a faction you need to go to House Zu Helter (Kurzick) or Cavalon (Luxon), only the guild leader can do this.
I don't think that with 10 hours of playtime you can make it there.
