A lot of people claim they will ragequit GW after updates, but if this happened, most people seriously would. I fail to see why you even want to know this, since the a HUGE part of why GW is so successful is the "no subscription fee" business model, and they've repeatedly stated, "NO SUBSCRIPTION FEE EVER."

The game boxes and advertising campaigns boast that Guild Wars has no monthly fees and even though they can implement monthly fees if they wish, they'd have to scratch the "NO MONTHLY FEES" wording of all 3 of my GW boxes before I'd play again.
They have a business model which involves releasing new content every 6-12 months and the Online Store will be financing them quite well too. It has been a success so far and will be in the future.

I expect a persistant world to even justify a monthly fee... and quite frankly i no longer have time for games that require a monthly fee... id rather do without the pressure to play to get my money's worth thats when the game no longer is a game and begins to be a investment

It has to end sometime. I think that GW has shown enough promise that if it fails another game will take up the slack and learn from A.Net's mistakes. Just part of the evolution of games IMO.

As most people have already realized, EQ or WoW are better games then guild wars, and most people would rather play those if possilbe, though they would rather not be paying a monthly fee. thats why we play guild wars, because of the benefits

If GW goes to a subscription-based game, I think ALL of us would expect much more from ANet than we are currently getting so we actually feel like we are getting something for our money (new areas to explore, useful and good updates, something to go after in the game, etc..). If it goes subscription, I for one would feel ANet is not respecting the right of others to enjoy the game...........and they would cause MAJOR distress in me.....maybe even to the point where my hair would fall out.

Silkroad Online (MMORPG) is free to play but they use online shops to get funds to keep servers up etc. If Guild Wars 2 comes and it is MMORPG I'm only playing IF they fund it via online shop (new pets to characters) etc but let those who not use online shop just play with game's price.

im broke right now paying 50 bucks a month for internet service.
gw is a really awesome game. and props to the devs for doing what they do with nice expertise. but to pay monthly fees for a game thats so limited, cant farm anymore, nerfed, fkd with every 2 weeks. i'd go back to playing UT2k4.

2. When a company make negative profit, they're simply spending their loyal stock owner's money. Their stock price will fall, but the company will not close down.
3. Anet's business model is VERY profitable. As stated by one of founder (forgot which one), over 1/3 of their development (or is it just art?) team is stationed in Beijing, China. So their development cost is only a portion of what standard MMORPG.
Things like that will not happen.
