Does a person automatically get one of those spiffy elite icons under their name? How does titling work with this new system?
Edit: I see it takes a few minutes, but the titling question still stands.

Great idea. Alot of other sites I go to (not guild wars BTW
) do about the same thing to get a consistent income when they get this big.
I'm money-tight right now - but I still think giving alittle incentive to donate is fine.
Its nothing mind boggling (Signature is the major thing) - but its really not suppsoed to be about the features either is it

Titling remains the Elite Guru or Core Guru once you sign up with the system. Those with a custom title (ahem, The Admins Bane) you'll notice that his has stayed the same. If you also look in the online list and in the profiles when you post thost members are double-underlined (in IE) or a thick line (in Firefox) to further distinguish them as well.
And we appreciate anything you care to sign up for. We hope that many see this as the donation program that was asked for and the features as just a nice perk. (I got what you meant Admin's Bane

I usually have my active users box closed, but upon opening it to see, I noticed that names have no special distinguishing feature for the new membership dealy. It's probably because I'm using Mozilla, which practically no one uses anymore. Personally, I don't care, but I thought the admins might want to know that it's not working for me.
Thanks for the answers, Inde. You're doing a great job.

okay, I just wanted to pay, but I need to be a verified paypal member, which I'm not.
I don't have a creditcard, because it costs quite a bit money for something I never use (every payment here in the netherlands is done by another system). I can transfer money to my paypal account though, and I never had any problems with it.
Why is this? I just want to support guru

I've just signed for that and I had no problem with PayPal despite the fact i'm not (and don't wanna be
) a verified user...
One thing though (my rant of the day
): I'm disappointed it was considered as an abonement (sp?) automatically renewed by default when you use PayPal. I'm not saying I won't renew it next year, but for this kind of thinds, I like to be asked 1st (I know I can cancel the automatic payment every year/month on my PayPal account, I've just done it, but still).
Sorry I needed to post a rant about something

I would like to pay some money to support guru, but I don't like the idea that I will lose the title system forever
Maybe we could keep our titles and then have it show the medal icon and the double underlined name to indicate our guru membership?
I suspect not many people are purchasing a membership at the moment because it's christmas shopping time and we're all probably out of money. I've been broke for a few weeks and now that I've got money again, I'm debating whether polls and signatures would be more fun than a title.
