What kind of idiotic idea is this putting combat modifier on caster weapon instead of caster modifier? I want to hear some feedback from other about caster weapon (wand/staff) with combat modifier in Nightfall, How often do you actually depend on using projectile from your wand/staff to kill your enemies? Not very often to me. Has Anet run out of idea on mix and match modifier on caster weapon so now they decide to use combat modifier as well.

It is only a proble in no-recyclabl items.

If the item is reciclable, just change that modifier.

I guess it would depend on what classes your playing with. A warrior/ele fire spiker could use the shield or vice versa. *shrugs*

Yeah, those wands and staves with damage modifiers are annoying. Worse, they are very common at collectors, which used to be choice places to find good caster mods. And since they are collectors items, you can't remove or change the mods.

However, the -5(20%) mods are actually sort of nice for a caster in certain situations (farming for instance).

You can get 15^50 staves from the desolation collectors.
in kourna and the RoT, they offers +15/enchant staves, and in vabbi, 5e/enchant.

unless they also affect spells, and i doubt they do, they are indeed useless, and can't be inscribed as they are collectors weapons.
My casters heroes get their weapons from canthan and tyrian collectors, they are much better than the elonians ones.

It helps my warrior wand Shiro to death while standing behind the PUG monk.

All kidding aside, it is pretty useless. I get my collector items from tyria or cantha. Those give me the 20% 1/2 casting mod.

Yeah, I was hoping I can provided my heroes (caster) with collector weapon instead of buying expensive green/gold weapons on everyone of them. I have up to 8 PVE characters, it is expensive enough as it is since I have to upgrade heroe's armor with insignia, superior vigor, and other rune to boost their attribute. I haven't test it out yet but I don't think collector's caster weapon can be replace with different inscription since its modifier was not using an inscription.

As side from the collector caster weapons, also the green weapon (staves) in Nightfall

O.O
Switching to major vigors might get you an extra 20-25k for greens.
