Remove Torment Claws from Abaddon's gate

Yeah, the claws can be annoying, but only when you get 2-3 of them at once (and it does happen.) Other than that, the mission's a breeze, and you can even deal with a multiple-claw spawn if you're paying attention.

For the following four simple reasons;

1. DUDE! Lightbringers Gaze them when they're casting torment slash; it's a slow cast time for a reason! Use it.

2. I also did this with henchies, and got masters time. (Although II did it first with human players.) So it's really not that hard.

3. All three games have great spells for quick HP, and Energy renewal while in a combat situation. So use them.

4. It's just really not that hard if you have a quality time. The nukers shoudl be taking care of teh monolithes without any issues. At least I know I do. The tanks should be, well, tanking. And the healers should be in the back, well, healing mid-battle. That's they're job afterall.

so, /notsigned.

They don't seem to spawn when the head is down. Even if you book out early to get back to the monolith spawn to put buffs back up, you can still do it with henchies in about 15. That's what I do. I spend about the last 5 seconds that Abaddon is down to redo my buffs when I know it won't be wasted by interrupts. Probably takes a couple more rounds, but if you do it this way, just make sure your henchies take out the claws while you hang back. They'll be really quit to rez any that get hit, so even if you just hang back and use Lightbringer's Gaze, it shouldn't take more than a couple seconds.
This mission sucks when you bring players who try to go off on their own, but is really easy with henchies. I guess since you have to do it each time you want into Throne of Secrets, they wanted you to be able to get back in for your armor even if your team couldn't all be on.

Take any skills you have for personal endurance, and Lightbringer's Gaze. Setup Master of Whispers or Olias with the N/Me SS Shirostopper (you can find the skill list on guildwiki in the notes for the mission before this one). Then take Gehraz, Devona, Mhenlo, Kihm, Sogolon and Cynn. Between the direct damage, healing/protection, cautery signet and fire magic and the hex/curse shut down, you'll have it nailed.

Its an old topic... but i don't care...

I hate this mission with a passion. Word of Madness is nothing but annoying and frustrating. Torment Claws... urgh.

It once took my mesmer 30 minutes to complete this mission. Why? Because everytime i went in to kill the Monolith group at the front... i'd get jumped by a Torment Claw... by the time i kill that, another 1 had appeared.... and another. I actually killed 30 Torment Claws IN A ROW without seeing Abaddon once, i even killed the front Monolith group 4 times and each time it just respawned!

Y'know.... you CAN kill Torment Claws from outside their attack / skill range.... assuming you're only using spellcasters to do it. The dumb things don't even flinch.

O'course that is assuming they don't spawn IN aggro range... which in this case they.... kinda do. -_-; ....

Geez. Lightbringer gaze recharges every 15 seconds.
I could beat Abaddon in my first try with Master rewars.

Just bring a Lightbringer Gaze, a Martial weapon user with an interrupt and a caster with another, and done.

add something harder. The claws were easy. I did it as a crit/barrage sin and never got touched by the claws. abadumb did more to me then the claws ever did. As mentioned by the others did you bring res sig? or rebirth sig?

Mods you so need to close this now (me being OP). I completed this mission months ago and soon realised the claws werent an issue.

But now people are /signing to make it harder?

1) Hardmode
2) Thats completely against the topic of the thread.

Close this because its redundant please.

What's so bad about torment claws? A good interrupt like disrupting stab takes them out so they hardly do anything.

I've never had a problem with them in Abaddon's Gate before, and I've cleared it quite a few times.
