The Titan Source, Elite 4-man Group (what is it?)
Asrial
The Titan Source; last Glint quest; Dragon's Gullet area
I'm looking to get some ideas on the best possible 4 man team to beat this quest.
Our options are...
R/* (me; can't change the ranger)
3 heroes
.
I'm thinking of: R/* (probably go with a standard int/int/damage/RtW/colddamageconvertspirit setup), W/* (tank), M/* (healing), M/* (protection)
I also COULD add, bringing them from ToA, some level 15 henchman but my concern is that they will overtask my healers.
I would LOVE to swap out a healer for another damage dealer (a condition assassin perhaps, but not sure if titans can take conditions like bleeding and deep wound).

They do get Deep Wound afaik, but no poison, bleeding or disease.
Saborath Gilgalad
Form in Yaks and do it 6 man and run there, it makes it alot easier. Other thing you may have trouble with is I'm not sure if people actually do this mission anymore.
Asrial
Saborath, did you read my post?
Mr.H.Mishima
I did it with me, W/R, 2 Mesmers and a Monk. Had a few problems with the Char, but the Titans were easily defeated.
And yes, I have a Screenie to prove it.

i did it with me (a R) a W and 2 Monks,
btw u would be betta going from Yaks rather than ToA, since ToA to dragons gullet is a massive run and would limit ur build somewhat.
I would recomend getting a guildie or friend with heroes to help u. Then u could do 2 Monks, 2 other casters and 2 W or Rs. The mission should be nice and easy for u then . If u still cant do it gimme a Pm ingame later on and ill give u a hand.

I did it with a W/* tank (don't think I used any secondary skills), a nuker who had 60DP after like 2 minutes, an SS necro who did a lot more dmg than the nuker, and a heal/prot hybrid monk.
Heavy Edenial in the end is really hard to fight, but Warrior's Endurance did it (yes I know it's the worst elite ever it was like the only one I had kthx)
The nuker was pretty useless. I guess a ranger could fit in there with some interrupts... If you start from Yaks I suggest tank, healer, bonder, ss, mm (maybe something else here because titans don't leave corpses i think) and an interrupt ranger in the 6th slot. If you start from Grenditch leave out the MM and the bonder.
TTS-PUG ftw

Pick Me
I did it with my Ranger/Monk. It was one Warrior, 1 Monk, 1 Elementalist, and me. I died twice, monk died once, warrior died once, elementalist died 5 times I think.
I used ranger bow skills + mend ailment + rebirth. We had a good monk, so healing wasn't an issue (I did have troll unguent, but rarely ever used it).
Just about any group can do it, so "best" is subjective. The best players in their chosen profession can do it easily (4 man Titan Source group). So depending on your skill level and those of your party, any profession combination can do it.
Good luck.

MM wont be very effective here, die to the burn conditions which make them last not every long and the fact that titans leaver no corpses so u can only make minions out of Charr. Ofc u can use one but it just wont be as effective as if u used them somewhere else

Take Greater conflaguration and winter on your skill bar along with your fave skills. Set a hero as a bonder and manually sort bonds then disable the skills. Take a searing flame ele and either an SS necro or a Warrior is always good for a laugh. With something like this you should breeze through it just use fire against char and cold against titans = gg. A four man team should be no problems at all especially against char.
xtremextreme
I attempted this with myself (w/x), ss hero (n/me) and 2 monks, and couldnt do it. Got to titan bosses with 60% dp, 1 hit from them killed all my heroes. Pointless, and there is no 'item' reward like factions.
However, if i changed team, i would say a good team = tank, bonder, nuker and healer, with the nuker dealing out the damage.

Okay. It wasn't pretty.. but I got it on the first try. Yay!

R/Mo (me) -> Distracting Shot, Savage Shot, Penetrating Attack, Read the Wind, Troll Unguent, Escape [E], Winter, Rebirth
Expertise: 12 + 1 + 1
Marksmanship: 12 + 1
Wilderness Survival: 3 + 1
WANTED USE: Provide critical interupts while still doing some damage. Hard resurrect because it's easier for me to get out of the battle (unlike the henchmen who like to Leroy Jenkins it even in avoid combat mode). Escape for minor tanking (love this skill) and Winter to convert elementalist damage to cold.
TRUE USE: I failed miserably at the interupting, IMO. I got all the slow stuff (Rend Enchantments, Rodgort's Invocation, Healing Signet) but failed badly at the faster things. I didn't use Rebirth all that much, but it's worth keeping in place nonetheless. Winter was good for the beginning of a fight, but I kept forgetting to put it back up during the fight. This skillset has been fine tuned, via my experiences, throughout the life of my ranger so I didn't find anything wrong with it.
.
W/Mo (Koss) -> "For Great Justice!", Dismember, Cleave [E], Distracting Blow, "I Will Avenge You!", Sprint, Purge Conditions, Resurrection Signet
Strength: 12 + 1
Axe Mastery: 12 + 1 + 1
PURPOSE: Keep Cleave going non-stop. Give the AI some interupt ability. Make sure the warrior is first to the fight to tank. Give the AI some ability to remove burning and stay alive as people are dying, to hopefully finish off whatever may have party wiped us.
TRUE USE: I didn't pay much attention to Koss but he seemed to be doing fine. I'd take out IWAY and Purge Conditions as he never seemed to use them.
.
Mo/Me (Tahlkora) -> Balthazar's Spirit (locked), Blessed Signet, Life Barrier [E] (locked), Life Bond (locked), Signet of Devotion, Signet of Rejuvenation, Leech Signet, Resurrection Signet
Inspiration Magic: 2
Healing Prayers: 6 + 1
Protection Prayers: 12 + 1 + 1
Divine Favor: 11 + 1
PURPOSE: Standard bonder with 'free' healing. I focused heavily on free healing to maintain energy levels.
TRUE USE: The bonding worked fine, except there was alot of degen being thrown around. The free healing just wasn't strong/fast enough to keep up with the damage being taken, and Tahlkora never really had any energy problems. I'd try swapping out the Signet of Rejuvenation and Leech Signet with Gift of Health and some kind of fast hex removal.
.
E/Mo (Acolyte Sousuke) -> Glyph of Lesser Energy, Searing Flames [E], Liquid Flame, Fireball, Gift of Health, Purge Conditions, Aura of Restoration, Resurrection Signet
Fire Magic: 12 + 1 + 1
Energy Storage: 12 + 1
Healing Prayers: 3
PURPOSE: Put out a steady amount of single/group DSP through Searing Flames, Liquid Flame, and Fireball alone. Fast recharge, high damage, fire nuking. To assist the bonder, I added a small touch of healing.
TRUE USE: Sousuke kept running out of energy ALOT. Granted, I'd go into battle with half energy sometimes because I wasn't patient enough to wait forever for it to regen. I've never played an elementalist before, mainstream, so I don't know the proper way of refilling 84 energy, heh. He seemed to do fine and his Gift of Health came in handy 'a few times' but I never noticed him using Purge Conditions. I'd take out Purge and put in another energy management spell of some kind.
.
Ultimately, I did fine one mob at a time. It wasn't until the final 3 boss cluster that I started to get party wiped but I was also making progress by killing 1 bad guy at a time so it was just a matter of patience at that point to finally kill off everything there.

Congrats on getting through it. One tip for you is to use fire attunement for your ele and always use it manually before you start a fight. The best skill to use with Searing Flames is Glowing Gaze as it replaces your energy very nicely and keeps the energy bar topped up. But well done for doing it with you heroes.

ahh this brings back memories of at least a year ago.
well ok, i beat it with 3 other players, (and yes, i realize u wanted heroes)
but we did it by sorta cheating the system, 2 eles, me earth, another fire and 2 experienced monks, heals and prots.
we figured one charr from the mob activates the advance of the next mob.....now if memory serves me right it was the ranger or perhaps a necro.....
actually i think it was a ranger.....so we left that dude til last, and had the king 1v1 it.....the king wont die kuz he has some innate regen and the enemy uses troll ugent i think. the king will VERY slowly beat it to death, but u can use this time to lure the mobs and kill them....back then i dont think they had the 'flee from aoe' ai, so we body blocked the 2 close mobs at the stairs and nuked them to death, me being the tank

is this quest doable with 4 people? or is it better to make a run from yaqs with 6 people?
Pick Me
It is doable with 4 people. Just not you and 3 henchies from grenich courthouse.
If you have basically all day, you can go from ToA with 8 people and run to Titan's Source. Yaks with 6 people is very doable, but people still need to be intelligent to do it well.
You need 1 good monk, 1 good warrior and any other 2 professions. Eles are good, Rangers are good, mesmers are okay, ritualists are okay, assassins are okay, necromancers are good, paragons are okay, dervish are good.
In the hands of a really good player, any profession is awesome in Titan Source. Same token, in the hands of a poor player (not even a really poor player), any profession can be disasterous in any quest.

Well now that we have Jagged Bones, an MM who applies it and Death Nova may be of some use in the mission because JB is endless minions that cause bleeding, and Death Nova... a minion bomber...

you use barrage
2 monks
1 warrior
1 monk bonds warrior and stays back then send warrior in and barrage
