I Would very much like to know which pets are new in Nightfall, and where to charm them, and also, Is it possible to charm an "Elder Crocodile", and if so then how?

(They appear green but when I approach they turn red and attack me!)

The pets in nightfall are Crocodile,Jahai Rat,Lions,Lioness's,Flamingos,Warthog (the same ones from Tyria) and Hyenas.

The reason the Elder Crocodiles attack you is because they are charmed by nearby monsters. I do not know if it is possible to charm them before the monster.

Check this page on guild wiki for info on where they are

Thanks alot for your advice, I looked up crocodiles, and they can be charmed, They are in west lahtenda bog(In the lake), outside blacktide den, just charmed one and they are great.

I thought they usually turned Red as soon as you attempted to charm them.

Which is why you need to leave your hero's/hench back so they don't kill them.
(Which lead to me going North of Copperhammer with just a tank + 2 healers, working my way to the Elder Wolves to avoid it getting killed. )

The ones in Lahtenda Bog don't. It's the Elder crocs all through Kourna that get tamed by Heket.

I don't know if you can beat those damn frogs to it, though...

I was very dissapointed when I saw the charmable creatures..
Nothing was unique or new. They are just re-skins of older animals..

Whats all this talk about the hippo? Was it added at one time, then removed?

yes, htere was a charmable pigmy hippo in the bog during the pve preview weekend, but it was removed (according to rumor) because they are endangered species.... heh unlike white tigers

Edit: ok I thought this was clear but white tigers are endangered, this undermines any support for the endangerd species theory. I was stating a historical fact that people believed the hippo was removed for that reason, which was clearly wrong even before Anet denied it.
reading dev trackers: NO official post here on guru, wiki only states that the hippo was removed for technical reasons

Devs have already stated that the removal of the Hippo has NOTHING to do with it being an endangered species.

All they had to say is it had something to do with resource/coding limitations in the game, and the fact the hippo had really poor ingame animation.

So lets no start speculating again.
