Okay, so here is my idea...
What if you can be in a guild and a corporation, which is like a guild, but it isn't about battling and gaining faction; it's about getting money. Okay, you're probably thinking: "This guy's a lunatic"; but I've got my ideas straight. What I was thinking is that you pay to make a corporation, like a guild, then name it in the same manner, but then you choose your type of corporation: armor, weapons, parchment, materials, those sort of things. Then to add to it you make your special type of item; yes you could make armor, but you can only own one set of your created armor, same as weapons and everything else. Then give it to a special shop keeper in a city: a special sail-to-city where everything there is corporation's shops and a couple of storage people. Say your a material corporation and your called Fun Co., under your shop it says for a name: Materials [Fun Co.] so people would know. And in this special city you can go to a "rater" ;let call them, who lists all the available corporations. You can browse and search; it will show an ammount o stars by the corporation to tell how people like the corporation (If you're in the co. you can't vote). You as the Corporation Boss hires workers, then places them in departments, like for armor you do: Materials department: Gets materials, Smithing department: Creates the armor, and Gilding department: Shines it and makes it look better. (will probably be more) So you can assign workers to each department, and assign an overseer in each department. An overseer still does work they can just hire and fire people from there assigned department. The point of this is to gain money and cooperate with different corporations. This will require no grinding, just making items, the better the item the more materials, and there are co-bosses.

As far as the idea goes. Guild Wars doesn't seem right for it. Its been stated in the past that guild wars is a skill based game. If you want grinding for gold and materials, etc. Try another game. Personally it sounds more like Eve Online.

I said it wouldn't need grinding, your not leveling anything up; your just making money in like a job.

Because Varesh Ossa really only wants to pave the world and put up some shiny-glass-buildings, not bring some mythical god into a magical realm of sentient monsters, multiple gods, and free-roaming warriors!

Honestly, the idea is not good for GW.

This idea would be a better idea in a more modern setting game.

Think about it, if you were in a Fantasy type setting with swords and magic with really limited technology, you think anyone would be thinking about business outside of a barter system using gold pieces that you found on the ground after you slayed a baddie.

While I do like your core concept, being a businessman at heart, it conflicts with the Guild Wars flavor and the direction ANet seems to push the game, IE skill over vanity items. World of Warcraft, I would definitely sign. Guild Wars...I dunno. Mercantile just isn't the same here as it is in most MMOs.

Guild Wars name come from event in storyline's history. not from that players can GvG.

This idea is good. That game is in fantasy settings not mean that their economy, ranks and everything must be like real world's history, definately in humans history there was not Siege Turtles and Fireball shooting from hands. Their economy might be diffirent like they can shoot fireballs from their hands.

I don't think I would want to log on to play GW and have to sit in some dungeon polishing armor one of my "corporation buddies" just finished riveting together.

I think most players would just rather play the game.

Creating guild

Well, we're talking about shifting a game that was originally designed solely for pvp (story mode was just an intro) into money making. Doesnt fit really. Like another said, maybe WoW but not here.

My whole idea here was to find a way to work with a group of people to get alot of money buy selling things, but not farming

Wrong game.

Guild Wars doesn't have persistent world for a reason. This way, no player depends on any other player in any aspect of the game.

This isn't about some tiny feature set, but about the underlying concept. If any person in GW decides to never log in, the game won't be affected even a notch.

Your proposal violates that.

But above all, GW is about action and combat. Everything else is extremly marginal and just there to fit into the RPG genre and add some diversity.

This is clearly demonstrated with consistent lack of auction houses and storage expansions. You are not intended or even allowed to expand beyond one character. There's a little extra space shared through characters, but that is the one and only impact you will ever leave on Guild Wars world.

not really the wrong game so much, as the wrong implementation. Just think of how many "vendors" there would be at this proposed city. It would be the size of a continent filled with peoples wares.

Fact: Eve online got coprs. The crew of some of the big ones can easily made a organized small bussiness (due to the complexity and diversity of the implented system and the player experiance)...if they weren't playing 8+ hours a day
