Im not usually one to complain about the market, because I accept that its not going to be perfect and you need to be enduring to stand in one location for 30 minutes to an hour, or more shouting "WTS...." in order to actually sell something.
I realise thats its only those with a special nack, or an indepth knowledge of prices who are good at flogging things within 2 seconds of entering a town.
The rest of us have to sit back and be patient till someone notices us and wants to trade.
I even accept the fact that 9/10 people who take interest usually ask to look, and then without a word just cancel and leave.
But recently its getting even worse. To the point of frustrating. To the point where you have to sell items at half or 1/10th their normal price.
Something I plain refuse to do, because the point of selling something is to make a profit. Perhaps thats why I never/hardly sell anything, because I tend to start off high and then reduce it, but stop reducing at a set amount, usually about 10k.
But the items im selling at the minute, or trying to; I would have expected them to have gone after atleast 15-30 minutes of trying.
A +30hp upgrade for dagger.
A wand wrapping of 1/2 skill recharge 20%.
And the odd green.
As mentioned I do at times ask higher prices, but thats just to see if they go.
Im trying at 10k for those listed above. Perhaps thats high. I dunno.
But to start going bellow 10k to sell a perfect upgrade just seems wrong to me.
But Ive come to the conclusion the market is in a worse state then usual, because all ive done for the past week is try to sell these items. In every capital city from tyria to cantha to elona. In every smaller town or camp I can think of.
About 30 minutes each time, or longer.
Ive had about 3 interested parties in that time and all said "ny".
Even a gold vampiric Scyth, which I threw into the mix at one point, hasnt had any look ins. An item which I would expect to sell, to alteast a new player looking for a max weapon.
I realise that releasing expansions can screw up the market for a few months. I was there when factions came out. But this seems worse then usual. Even the numbers in LA and Droks are drastically down. You could nearly always be garanteed more then 1 district in the english section of LA or Droks. But now your lucky to get 1. Perhaps that why the market is dead at the moment. Its a big factor. The same can be said for Cantha.
Ive not got suggestions or points to make, other then that. I just thought a discussion would be nice.
Just general talk about the market...

Once, I heard a perfect explanation as to market value.
"Something is only worth what you are willing to pay for it."
If they didn't want to spend 10k on an item you felt was worth more than 10k, then it wasn't worth it to them.
And you're right, the market values on a lot of items are jacked at the moment. Not all that surprising, really. There's been a major change to the game and it's hard to tell what anything is worth really. I'm sure even the power sellers/buyers are having issues as well. And, after a while, things will start to have different values, things that were worthless will suddenly have value, maybe people will stop buying Sundering mods at outrageous prices.
Honestly, this is a good time to get into the market because values have basically been reset.

I use the auctions here on guru. You get serious buyers and you generally get the price you need for an item and if you don't you can relist it until you do without all the tedious trade spamming in game.

+30hp won't sell quick because a lot of people are playing NF chars + there is a shit load of perfect fortitude mods these days.
HSR 20% Inscriptions are not worth much as they are an common drop.
With the x3 green weekend some greens will be hard to sell as many were easy to farm.
Just because you can't sell something straight away doesn't mean everything is going down the pan. It sometimes does take days to sell anything in game, thats life. Learn to deal with the new changes that are happening or quit selling.

You got to think about the fact that you're competing against greens, which all have perfect mods. Unless its a really rare skin they like, they aren't as likely to fork out to buy only one mod when for almost the same they can buy the same mod with extras.
There's also the fact that most of the old players who have money would have already got all the mods they need, and most of the new players who don't have money aren't going to pay 10k for just a weapon mod. Especially now that you can choose exactly what you want to salvage, perfect mods aren't that hard to get.

It is probably because of the new improved AI. It is harder to get money now so people tighten their purse strings.

I agree, it is harder to sell these days. I suggest waiting untill the market balances again. If you cant sell now, throw it in storage and pull it out later and try again.

Now, eh. My inventory got full of perfect and one off from perfects, they aren't worth hoarding anymore and I do not think I am suddenly ultra lucky. I get a lot of them from spending my quartermaster items and such on keys (well, except trade contracts, they go towards rubies and saphires). The chests drop at least one max mod regularly and I can salvage exactly what I want off of them.
Unless I know I'm going to want that mod for a hero they pretty much go to the merchant. So I'm definitely not going to pay 10k for something I didn't even bother to salvage. Heck, 10k worth of keys and I will most likely get the mod I want plus a few other useful max ones, not to mention furthering titles.
