When you find a site that ACTUALLY rates games with a non-bias attitude, then you come back and post this.

This is from About.com's site.
According to Nielsen NetRatings, About.com is a top 10 Web property used by one out of every five people on the Internet. It holds a valued role in the lives of more than 29 million opinion leaders as a preferred source of original consumer information and advice. The success of About.com centers around our unique Guide System that features 24 content channels and promotes original content from more than 500 topical advisors or "Guides." The Guides are the heart and soul of the About.com experience, sharing their passions across 57,000+ topics and offering actionable information and advice that is always useful, practical and personally relevant. Our robust library, with over 1.2 million pieces of original content, represents one of the largest of its kind on the Web today.
About Guides live and work in over 20 countries and celebrate their interests in hundreds of topics. Guides are selected for their ability to provide the most interesting information for users, and for their passion for their subject and the Net. The selection process is rigorous -- only 10% of those that apply graduate to the live service. Below are some of the most important criteria by which they are chosen:
High level of knowledge/passion for their topic
Appropriate credentials
Keen understanding of the Web "experience"
Commitment to creating informative, actionable features
So, I think it's safe to say that they are unbiased and a good reference tool. With so many people using this site, it's a reliable source of information.

Its really a matter of siding on that long time debate over credibility and accuracy. Some sources may obviously be correct but hold no water. I wasn't saying About.com was biased or that I disagreed with them, I was pointing to the fact that about.com holds no true credibility in the gaming world. If this was given out by gamespot.com or another game giant then it would be different.
Honestly, when was the last time you heard someone say "I wanna buy this game... about.com gave it a great review!"

omg he missed an i in prestigious.

When Gamespot gave Guild Wars Nightfall an 8.2: "This is why I never list to critics, bunch of hacks who don't know anything about video games."
When About.com put Guild Wars first in a top ten list: "About.com is a very reputable site, DONT YOU DARE SAY ANYTHING DISPARAGING ABOUT IT >:|"

About.com is actually blocked by most of the continuously updated "hosts" files. Not sure why but they must think it's a source for some bad banners or adware/spyware etc. Just a fyi.

In addition to this; Factions has been nominated for GOTY. We'll find out if it wins probablly on the 30th.
Perhaps we'll get a game of the year edition of Factions with more special weapons..
