Beating Ruins of Morah with a Dervish
Shyft the Pyro
I've been stuck on this mission for several days, trying to get through but failing each time. Even if I managed to get myself into a corner with only a few enemies engaged at a time, I just couldn't get through. In the confines of "henchies + heroes," I tried everything: MM, SS, battery, bonder, ritualist spirits, ward ele... Nothing worked. Not even the few PUGs I finally resigned myself to joining.
And then it hit me. What was killing me wasn't the exorbitant damage from the enemies; it was the fact that with Quickening Zephyr up on them, the casters in my party ran out of energy and could do nothing. My brilliant idea (which will probably seem obvious to some) was to equip Energizing Winds spirit on one of my heroes. I put it on Margrid, but any hero should do - I put only 3 points I put into Margrid's Beast Mastery, and Energizing Winds lasted a good 54 seconds, nearly enough to cover the recharge.
Now, all I needed was a likewise desperate Dervish eager to try new things (read: on the verge of paying a runner). I found one - had my pick of several, actually - and off we went.
We finished the mission with Expert's Reward, in just over 11 minutes. Had we not waited for our forms to recharge we might have gotten Master's, too.
You can call this a personal triumph, but in the three days I was stuck at Ruins of Morah, I could find no thread on beating it. I hope this helps some other desperate Dervish who comes across it

...and you didn't try SPOIL VICTOR?!
Ruins of Morah is a pathetic mission. I thought it was impossible not to get Masters...

another easy way is to run to the gate on htte opposite side of the map, kill the groups that come to you then rush in and kill him as the other groups as they respawn will get stuck behind a spirit
Zexion
Kill him? Since when was Varesh male?

I tried as a MM and found a solid way to pull it off:
Heros/Hench:
2 Wars
2 Monks
Fire Ele
Earth Ele
Dervish
MM (Me)
Kill the three Clerics first. Animate a Golem and two fiends. Then focus on Varesh. Barbs helps here.
As soon as she dies, fallback to the original spawn point. Hurry!
When the demonic mobs spawn, you'll aggro one or two right off, but it's ok because they can only come at you from one direction and you have minions in between.
Kill the Shadows first and the melee fighters next. Animate everything. Recharge. Hit Varesh with Barbs + 9 Fiends + 1 Golem + 3 melee hench.
Spam BotM like a banshee.
I've hit Masters everytime with this strategy.

Ruins of Morah is a pathetic mission. I thought it was impossible not to get Masters... while this will work for some, not everyone has access to this skill. Needless to say I'm happy the OP found his own creative solution (and even happier that it didn't conform to the gestalt dogma that you must use a certain build... and even happy that he chose a ranger skill )
I'm also happy the OP added something, ie his way to beat the QZ e-denial which IS prevalent in later parts of this chapter.... which is a darn sight more useful for a lot of folks that just stating how to take down a boss.

If you do have access to Spoil Victor, I highly recommend you cap it.
It's the ultimate boss-killer skill, and it will come in very handy for you just two missions away

I've read about so many ppl who go in with SV and fail.
There are other more important skills needed though.

I said it comes in handy, no where did I say it's a "requirement".
If anything, WILDBLOW is more of a requirement than SV.
However, SV does make fighting him a LOT quicker.

However, SV does make fighting him a LOT quicker. Well you did say "ultimate boss killer" like it's the most important skill necessary for madess, which simply isn't true.

Kill the spirit. Noone except FoW trapper teams enjoys QZ Your monks will thank you.
Unless they're heroes in which case they'll just mouth off as usual.

UGH, Yea QZ is annoying as hell.
Btw, Lightbringer Gaze makes life easier because I noticed it stops any Calls to Torment in progress. Henchwaying it without it ended with me fighting 11 Arms of Insanity, but bringing it resulted in Expert completion henchway-style.
