Concerning the Various Campaigns
Mordus Kull
hello,
My main character is a w/mo lvl 20 and im gettin pretty tired of him, i decided to make a monk and i just had one question in mind:
Does it really matter which campaign you bring him up from? The only considerable difference i can tell is that you get different faces and you dont experience the prophecies campaign but does it really matter any where else? thanks

No It does nto matter, But I would use Factions as a "Character Farm" Where you bring them up to lvl 20 in about 5 hours or so.

Ultimately it doesn't matter.
Tyria is slower to level but you get a lot of free skills if you do the quests for them. You could focus on the missions and enough skills to get by and go to Kaineng when you get to LA for max armor, level 20, elites and more skill points.

I'd say go nightfall, its a great blend of both.

I'd start in Tyria/Prophecies for the free skills you get from quests.
Greygon
Prophecies... All the skills you get from quests will save you a TON of money...

I'd make any core character in Factions, you burn through the low level grind in no time flat and can get into the meaty level 20 gameplay in no time flat.

Normally the above is true, but it is so hard to find parties in Factions that it actually takes a lot longer to get through.

It absolutely matters. As several have said Tyria offers free skills. But there is a big drawback to Tyrian characters. They have to wait until they get to the desert and to drok's to get their 2 attribute quests, while the other 2 campaigns get them right up front. That can take a while if you don't have help.

Everybody that is saying "Go prophecies" The only problem with that is you get your +30 att. Points 3/4 of the way threw the game. (say 60 some hours, 30 if you go really fast) Versus 5 hours in Factions and 3-5 hours in Nightfalls.
Mordus Kull
okay so ive gathered that
prophecies:
pros - lots of free skills
cons - takes forever to get thru and you get those attrib points 3/4 thru the game
Factions :
pros - get attrib points easily, takes like 5 hours to reach 20
cons - you dont get free skills
ill go factions, thanks

its no comparison to questing skills PreLA in Proph, but Factions will give you around a dozen *free* class skills before you leave The Dojo

I would choose Prophecies for any core character. I thought Factions is faster so I created my monk first in Cantha, got to lv20 quick got armor and items for him but i wanted to make him pvp ready quick so i needed lots of skills from Prophecies. And i had only 3 skill points then and over 50 skills that i just HAD TO get.
The best solution was apparently DELETING the char and starting a new one in Prophecies!
I rushed him through most skill quests and important missions and finished the storyline in a week. I had most skills i needed AND 25 more skill points! Then went to Kaineng and bought all Factions skills. Tada! Monk ready
...And then Nightfall came and there's no reason to PvP with a PvE char so it all didnt really matter as I use a PvP char now for comfort of quick flexibility.
Anyway Prophecies skill gaining system FTW!
