It looks good! As always, your composition is great and it's nice to see an actual scene instead of a single character in pose like most other artists go for (not saying there's anything wrong with that though ).

Wow, seriously cool. I'm hoping you'll pick me for a commision somewhere down the line. You are truly gifted.

Really enjoyed this one, it's exactly how I imagined it, from the moment I read Fallen Hunter's pitch ^^

Wow, that looks absolutely gorgeous. Every part of the scene looks great, especially all the water. As usual you make me regret I've got almost no backgrounds requested for my commissions x_x

Is it just me or have you spiked your quality massively in these past couple of commissions? I envy your talent.

That's for a number of reasons: firstly, I'm spending a lot longer on them now, taking my time, with long breaks in between, adds to the second reason. Second reason being, that I'm choosing only commissions which strike my interest, and which I know will be fun to work on. And thirdly,, I'd hope I'm improving a bit over time as well

OMG Grey, that looks like a photograph. The detail is amazing.

I think I'll have to read the story that inspired it and adjust mine accordingly.

Hehe, I'll save you the trouble on that one, it was actually amazingly simple really, he had me hooked on first line.

"Born on a corsair ship rolling and tipping at sea, my birth, some would say, has reflected my life. My parents were fleeing from the tyranny of Warmarshal Varesh, who was then as ruthless as she was when I killed her..." Of course, it helped that I'd just watched pirates of the caribean recently, and was itching to do some stormy water action, but I thought it was a great opening paragraph.

A bit of asymetry really adds to a piece sometimes. Thought it was kind of funny that this post would be the one directly above the following pic ^^:

That's an entry into a contest over on GWOnline.

My first image to use my swanky new Intuos3. If there are any budding artists out there with the cash to spend, I can HIGHLY recommend one. It's amazing

My only comment on this is the fingers. They look a bit. . . Well, they look very long. Otherwise, its a pretty good piece.

The fingers do look long, but it goes with the mood of the picture. Nice detail on the jacket. I love that the view outside the window is......ambigous. The color and shading all add to the mood.

I kind of like the longers hand/fingers on this guy. Some of us in life have longer bits and pieces then others, so why can't he? It looks fine to begin with, bit more interesting now and that chain is a nice touch

I dont think it was so much that the fingers were too long in the first version, just that his whole hand was too big. I've shrunk it down now, and it looks a lot better in my opinion. I also added a bit more detail to the background, and armour etc.
