Wouldn't it be cool to have a mini pet of yourself!?!

I don't like mini people and having a mini version of yourself just doesnt make any sense for me. Even less with having a mini of someone else...
Capping any monster to be your mini, yay great idea! Feels soo Pokemon!
LoL ok not that good idea, it would remove the point of existance of rare minipets and using them as prizes. Unless there would be a numerous list of uncappables, available only as rare rewards (like bosses, dragons, some most powerful creatures, pandas obv...)
BTW I'd love a mini Shadow Beast too, no matter its rarity/price

Blanks could be an endgame item. |

A mini me pet would be impossible to play with, he would always want to be TOO careful, always want to pull to that special spot to completely avoid any possibility of aggro. I'd have to name my pet Analy Retentive Man.
Either that or it would always be distracted by the dancing ele and ranger chicks. I'd be in an explorable mission and say :wtf! where is he now? I'd find him back in town gawking at some scantily clad dancing ele named "Tig Ol Biddies."

Minipets are presumably fully pre-rendered, so they take up as little bandwidth as possible. They're luxury items, we don't want to see any sort of performance hit from them.
...Self-portraits would by definition have to be pretty dynamic, so that's probably not an option.
Unless, that is, the engine's support for scaling is robust enough that others' clients can just load you "twice" and shrink once. The only hint we have is the larger-than-normal bosses, so I dunno.
