I'm not sure if there is a thread simular to this one, the search function is down at the moment.

This title would be presided over, & controlled by the Guild Leader. It could be awarded for activity within the guild.

As the leader of an indolent guild I was considering a way of making my guild members more involved, & enthusiastic. Implementing a status reward system seamed like the best way. Titles earned, & pride gained with the rewards of being active within ones own guild. For now I will be setting up this Title system on my guild web page forum. But if it was implemented as an actual visible title it would help a great deal.

Rankings within a guild based on assigned titles earned by being active within the guild.
Merits towards this title would be earned by a guild member for engaging in GVG, as well as participating in activities with other guild members. The Guild Leader would demote, & add Merits based on active, or inactive participation of guild members.
As well as punishing members for rude behavior by demoting merits from this title. This would not be associated with officers.

For instance this is what I have planned out for the system in my guild.
Lord of (Guild)
Paladin
Knight of the order (Guild)
Sir Knight
Squire
Page

Alternatively at the rank of Sir knight the alternate titles.
Chevalier Knight, Ritter Knight, Sir Knight, Samurai.
Chevalier being French, Ritter being German, Sir being English, & Samurai being Japanese.

I was also considering chess pieces.
King or Queen, Rook or Castle, Bishop, Knight, Pawn

Alternately.
knight grand officer, knight commander, knight officer, knight, Squire or dame, Page or companion.

- Make your own guild.
- Give yourselve or a friend 'promotion' points manually.
- Useless title.

If the promotion points where given independantly, that woul be better.

What if they made a guild title depending on how long uve been at ur Current guild , it could also be a non maxable title.

1 week rank 1
2 weeks rank 2
1 month rank 3
etc. etc.

and titles could all be like: (x = Guild name or Tag)

1: recruit of x
2: elder recruit of x
3: Veteran of x
4: Loyalist of x
....
8: Faithful x supporter
etc. etc.

This would make people less likely to guild hop and would reward people who have loyally remained in teh same guild for long periods of time

Instead, maybe give ranks for 'hours played while in guild'. If you did 1 month, 2 month, people could be offline and still get title.

Nice idea though

Actually, I think it should be based on a combination of....

1. Kills Made with a Guild Member in team in PvE (limit per day)
2. Usual PvP bonuses with a guild member in team
3. Ranked GvG matches been a part of
4. Faction Donated (Limit per day)

It should also DEGRADE with time, like once a week it goes down a peg or two , at the max title, you should be able to gain OVER to keep your title, such as when you gain the highest title, the title bar is empty again, but when you get to the max of the highest title, it stops, and that's your title secured for another week.

Naturally, holidays will impact this, and that's just something you'll have to live with =/

I like the idea but it should be implemented diffirently.

It shouldn't be based on real people but more like an automated system. It should reward Guild Members playing together.

Obviously, simply counting hours spent with a guildy in the party wouldn't work. People would just go to a zone and go to bed only to wake up with a shiny title.

Experience on the other hand would be a good marker, but even there problems arise. One could simply do a quest with henchies, party up with a hero and get the reward netting him a nice title. Things based on killing monsters wouldn't work either, these would just lead to farmers for it.

This is why I vote for a system based on the following:

A system based on points given when helping guild members:

- 1 point for every quest objective completed by guild members in an instanced zone ( when a quest line gets a line through it. Mission objectives do NOT count. )
- 1 point for every skill captured by guild members in your party.
- 1 point for every reward type in a mission previously not gotten by guild members.

25 points title:
Okay Person
50 points title:
Nice Person
75 points title:
Friendly Person
100 points title:
Great Person

Maybe more ranks but I can't think of any good rank names right now :P. This will probarly lead to some guilds only recruiting persons with 'Nice Person' titles but we already have that for the HoH and Gladiator titles. There will still be plenty of guilds not requiring them and if you get one of those titles I believe you really deserve an easier time getting into guilds.

And ofcourse these titles will be farmed and people who really don't give a shit about their guildies will get them. But while they're getting them they are helping other people and if they're not friendly they can always be kicked out of guilds again.

WoW Honor system FTW?
Faction Grinds FTW?
Killing Grinds FTW?

Please not, the things based off are reasonable even though they're far too much centered on PvP. PvP already gives titles, I think this one should be for PvE.

But the degrading! Come on! I want to be able to take a normal vacation, skip GW for a day or 2 and not having to farm faction and kills all day long to be considered a good guild member.

Please not!

It's a nice idea but people will find out it's a superflurous title that doesn't give them much braggins rights like Protector of Tyria would do. So I don't think this'll change the person's participation in the guild.
