Leveling them heroes...

I've been mainly playing NF cause, well, it kicks ass. And I love my character (Ranger/undecided). The heroes start around your level so leveling them up is cake.
However, the heroes you get with Canthan/Tyrian characters start out as basically newbies.
I absolutely LOVE the whole heroes thing. Making builds for all of them, distributing their attr points, it's absolutely wonderful. Combining Tahlkora (as a pure healer) and Dunkoro as a pure protection prayers monk and combining the two to synergize is just absolutely brilliant and makes the team unstoppable. Making Olias a badass MM to compliment my spike/degen hex blood necro is awesome. Making Jin barrage while I'm a status effects ranger is perfect. The possibilities are infinite. I'd love those possibilities on my non-Elona characters, but it seems like such a grind. And Koss specced to inflict MASSIVE conditions on everything he touches just makes the team so much better. Good stuff! Next step, switch around my secondary so I can cap all the good elites for my heroes. Got Flesh Golem and a couple others tonight.
Henchies are pretty blah. And have you noticed that Heroes don't seem to gank as many of your drops (if any at all)? Very cool.
Anyone have a solid method to level up Canthan/Tyrian heroes efficiently? Can't take them in the level 20 areas cause they just keep on dying and, in turn, make me die.
Anet, heroes are the best thing you could have done with this already *amazing* game.

i took my heros throug the missions with me as i went and they never had a problem, this includes the Istani missions, they were all lvl 20 by the time i reached Vabbi, i would switch them around abit too (depending on mission criteria etc.) so they all go xp while i was questing, doing missions etc.

go to factions and do the quests there if you havent done them already
mrlopes
And you can always do the quests with high lvl heroes or henchs or pugs and after the quest finished put the low lvl heroes on your party and collect the quest reward.

That's what I did haha. I also took lowbie heroes for free rides through Raisu Palace from time to time.
Though I read that the easiest way to level your lowbie heroes is to take them in extra small groups through the wurm areas in Nightfall.

i had major problems like this... lv9 koss AND lv11 melonni where required at some mission >.< annoying anyway: here's how i lvl them
if you become WORM it doesnt matter what lv you or your heroe's are, even a lv10 hero gets 3000 hp and 60 energy... and you can kill huge amounts of enemies quite fast so ^_^

Baa, you know you going to need 2500 sunspear point anyway for the primary quest. do the consulate dock mission with level 20 henches, no hero. Then when you get to Yolon Heven just start questing with heros and talk to every wandering priest you know. I done it 2 time already with my tyria character, I just do the command post seriese quest and Koss's family quest series, 3 hours and all my heros are level 20. Double xp from wander priest helps. And get Alcolyte Suouske, you can max out fire magic the second you get him. Searing flame just beat heck out of mobs. I think fire damage double on insect and plant, which is mostly what the mob is made of around Kourna.

I took my heroes back to ascalon and did the missions there (just the first one (GNW I think), and nolani.
In the shiverpeaks, you party up with lower levels and just blast your way through. A lvl 20 whatever is pretty attractive to lower levels if they've got a monk hero who's higher than the hench levels.
Per mission I've leveled my heroes up about 2 times/per hero. In one night I took them from level 7 or 8 to lvl 15 ot 16.

Over the course of about a week, I took a combination of 1-3 heroes (and remainder henchmen), to befriend the Luxons for the first time, did Gyala Hatchery mission and then completed all other Luxon quests. 5 or 6 of my heroes reached L20 doing this. With just poor Koss left (he was captured from me at only L6), I levelled him quickly in Sorrow's Furnace: really high-XP rewards for the quests (~4k), especially if you hadn't finished "To Sorrow's Furnace" and then "Final Assault" (8-10k XP).

Scoundrel's Rise (outside Gates of Kryta) is a GREAT place for leveling, if your primary character isn't a meleer.
Well, I've done it with a nuker and an MM. In each case I took them up about 2 levels just soloing there when they were in the low teens, and more recently I've leveled heroes there very quickly.
My wife uses the Consulate Docks mission.
Also, if you have any quests that you haven't done, or haven't gotten the rewards to, you can pick them up with heroes in tow. That's best for the ones who've already gotten near Level 20, of course.
Something I didn't know and hence didn't use is that there's a 10,000 XP quest in X. Skyway. Look it up on Guildwiki.

1 word, minotaurs. If you have prophecies, take your heroes out of ToA and have the stay there at the portal. A quick run to Kessex Peak brings your heroes along. Rezone to The Black Curtain. You can have a guildie or friend run you there if needed, then they can leave since after killing them all, you can rezone and start over. The minotaurs are easily soloable and they are lvl 19. With the ability to keep them out of aggro until you have full aggro, you can pull them in to gain the experience. You may want a good build for quick kills since they pull back if constantly getting hit. The minotaur horns and minotaur hides salvage to tanned hides, but only salvege with a normal salvage kit to save money. You can level and farm this material at the same time. They also drop items and money.
