I guess you will need a certain Lightbringer rank to get into the new area. I'm placing my bet on R3 or R4 to get into the normal area and maybe a higher rank to get into the Elite mission?

ANET Is obviously, now, preparing themselves to introduce the elite mission with small tidbits. I'm still thinking on the gems, because there are really no more mysteries with what kind of materials armors need. I can't wait!, Also... of all the times to upgrade Varesh, its on the day after I sell it

Lightbringer seems to be the best bet. At least it'll decrease the LB rank discrimination, as everyone will need to be a decent rank just to get in.

What I find strange is that this article talks of it as if it's already in the game. I doubt it is, though, they said around Christmas, which just confuses the hell out of me.

Yes, Nightfall has a server-side data system, that will let anet open and close events from server-side, and the elite mission was added in the last few patches in small bits over time, so that the alpha testers can access and test the zone before they open it to the public.

Now it may be a rank8 to get there, so don't get me wrong, if they did open this,then they have a lot of happy people, like my self who only got Nightfall for the elite mission.

I'm quite sure that he was talking about the "exclusive" area in the Chantry of Secrets. This would make sense, as currently there is nothing of worth in there. Also, you can only enter after you beat the game on that character.

According to a previous Gaile comment, the Mini Varesh will gain a scythe. Nothing special.

And the LB Rank requirement to enter the Elite Mission better be LB Rank 4, since that's the most reasonable, since you hit R4 if you do all the quests in the Realm of Torment. If it's any higher (there's a HUGE gap between R4 and R5), then there will be complaining.

Once again: the damn exclusive area in the Chantry of Secrets is only there for lore!

Don’t forget she also stated that other means or gaining rank to Light bringer and Suns Spear track would be made available in the upcoming update other then the method of being afk. What is unclear is whether or not those alternative methods will be in realm or torment is anyone’s guess.

Is it just me or does anyone think the elite mission will not be the last major “add on area” for Nightfall. Besides the last hero, I’ve (not to mention other within the GW community) been seeing way to many other cracks here and there in Nightfall; that kind of felt like they are brick walls holding back people to under construction areas. One of these I’m talking about is Vabbi; in the Bazaar itself there is a record keeper, which does not give any information about any thing in particular. Another thing was the diamonds rare marital, which never had a real distinctive purpose. I know they could be used later on in campaign four or so on, because like the jewel’s that came before them; also had no real purpose all the way from prophecies. However why have different types of jewels, when diamonds are different enough already (I think it’s just odd). The same goes for those other fallen celestials like Dhuum and Menzies, who helped Abbandon by sending their lackeys in his last hours, never showed up themselves (they could also be in campaign 4).

I’m defiantly not trying to get your hopes ups, but the curiosity does stem the mind. If campaign 4 is a whole new step in a trilogy, most of the odds and ends (especially for some of the in game items) should be rapped up by now.

It was only a very short time ago that there were big moans on the forums about the size of Varesh and that Gaile said she would see what she could do.

Great work Gaile! I can't wait to get home and see what the larger and scythe equipped Varesh looks like. I am very glad I did not sell her now :-))

Edit: Just read The Scribe again and realised that the change hasn't happened yet but will happen during the next couple of weeks or so.

Many people suspect a new type of armor in this elite mission like FoW... but only time will tell. As far as these new gems.. I have to say I feel like we're getting a little cluttered with the crafting materials and so forth.. whatever they're for I wish diamond/sapphires/rubies (maybe even jadite and amber) were used for it.

Its not going to be restrictive by Anet but will be by pugs.
I can immagine all the "need more people, rank 8 lighbringer is required."
I was in Grand Court of Sebelkeh last night and pugs were only taking people with Lightbringer's Gaze only.
Its not even needed, you can master this mission with Olias as MM.

According to scribe there will also be a size increase as well as a new scythe added to Varesh.

That’s what I’m trying to say; why use something new, when Diamonds were never used for anything yet (just re-use some of the old stuff). Furthermore if the theme’ is the problem for the area, use a previous but different martial (like ecto's) don’t keep the upkeep of the player up; they’ll just be setting themselves up for more complaints in the long run. Yet if these new jewels work as something different like the scribe described, then that will be alright I guess (like what CC’s can do for players).

Yeah I agree with you. I just hope that this gem thing isn't as difficult as FoW.. meaning you could get it sooner than you could FoW armor.. assuming you get gold the old fashioned way ect. There seems to be a big gap between what you can get and then what you can't. Wow I don't think that made sense.. but hopefully someone understands what I'm trying to say... like there are tiers of armor you can get and there is a big gap between 15k endgame and FoW

I'm very glad that you did not, also! I think she's going to be incredibly popular. I mean, she's beautiful, she has a killer weapon, and she's purple! Can it get any better?

And thank you for thanking me, but really, this one was really sweet: I asked around, then sent an email to a couple of people and Curtis stepped up the plate and said, "Sure, I can do that!" and he took care of both requests: Increasing her size (to make her look less like a "galloping grape") and giving her a scythe, too. So he's the champ, here.

I'm in the same camp that it will be lightbringer rank

Not too shabby, still makes it accessible to most all, like the other elite mssns

A definite kudos is in order for NCSoft once again though

.. First your last major update.. listening to all the major fan concerns like (my favourite) divine aura updates, and even fixing up old bugs in mssns from Factions and Prophecies... And now, updating Mini-Varesh... You guys/gals are awesome! You really have been responsive to the community and I think thats a really amazing thing.. Thank you NC and Gaile for passing on our concerns and working in a very progressive direction

Agreed, but I think the best type of complaint is constructive criticism, not boorish namecalling, etc

That and she is bigger. I really, really hope that they make her at least almost as awsome as a Kunavange now. Maybe even have her use random avatars? But that might be pushing it...

Don't let that stop you. I beat the whole game. From the place where you ride the worms all the way to the end, every single group only accepted people with Lightbringer's Gaze. I got into a lot of those groups too even though I still don't have it!

I understand what you mean and I agree with you. Currently, the armors are sorta like a messed up title, money-wise. You can get the first couple ranks (1.5k, 5k, 10k, 15k, ect.) and then it seems to jump a few ranks of the title all the way to the last rank. Well, that's how I see it at least...

I don't think I'd want to feed my chars jewels....they aren't as edible as candy canes, and I don't see how they would releive DP if we don't eat it....unless either we can absorb them through our skin or just look at their shiney-ness to relieve DP!

Just ended up at the chandry of secrets and it's been changed since the last time I was there... had a bit of a wander around, found out I cant' get through the gates there, but my char who's finshed the game had no problems getting there. (rank 3 lightbringer) Personally, I can see the requisit for the new area being that you finished the game, not that I can say as such, I don't have any other characters who have lightbringer titles or have finished the game to be able to identify the requisit.

I don't think they added Diamonds to material NPC for nothing, it's obviously a Nightfall feature that is missed or incomplete.
