It seems like all the nice skin weapons or funny weapons are crappy. The Orge-Slaying Knife that is from the funny little skit in the game the summoner. Its cool and all and perfect for iw mesmers but other than that its crap. Then there is a banana scythe that is so cool looking but it only has 10-10 dmg. Same goes for candy cane weapons and holiday items. All of the holiday skins are very nice but are useless in pve or pvp.
I bet there is a few more items that have really cool skins or are funny that you really can't use.

not essentially. when my warrior was a low level, i used a candy can axe with him. also, a cc bow will give anyone without marksmanship a long ranged attack (longer than any wand or staff i think).

Orge slaying knife is useless for IW mesmer... you need an enchanting mod to keep it up constantly.

CC weapons are useful. Think trapping, staff for energy and a CC bow for Nightmares. No points needed in Marksmanship, 15-15 damage.

My Dervish was using the banana scythe up until he hit level 8 and I found something better. Fear the banana.

i disagree, my monk uses a CC wand. CC wands do Cold dmg.. and if any necros are along (like my hero for example) i ask them to pack Spinal shivers.. et voila i can actually help out by wanding and inturupting the enemies!

CC Shields are great for casters too. You get 10AL compared to 8AL when holding a non-requirement meeting shield.

The "fun items" are meant to be for fun, not seriously used in battle.
If the banana scythe is 9-41...I don't think it would be as funny when Weheska attacks with it. Logicaly speaking, I don't think a banana, being compressible, would do much damage.

On that theme, Candy is not necessarily the most lethal of blades, and being rigid rather than bendy, would not provide a very good drawback on a bow. As for magic wands, I can't comment scientifically on the conductivity of magic by sugar-based substances, but I'd bet it's not great.
